What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Winning, duh. I figure 4 or 5 more years at The Gap and I’ll have enough saved to move out of my parent’s place. In the meantime, don’t worry, my Mom said I can have girls over on Fridays.
(kidding, please read on)

The truth is I’ve been (non-religiously) blessed with many things: family, friends, music, career, a nice butt, and most importantly, a happy heart. Strange that my butt has gotten me further than anything else (if questionable humor isn’t your thing, you may want to move on to the next chucklehead).

I never wanted a 9 to 5 life, I’m not wired for it. I have a strong work ethic, but always wanted to work for myself. I now have a great career as a director/producer, and a musician. Music, guitar in particular, is my passion. I set a goal of getting one of my bands signed to a major label, and holy crap we actually did it. The deal immediately went bad of course (long story, fairly typical), but we enjoyed getting there. Music will always be one of the joys in my life.

Most recently I’ve been restoring a jewel of an old house in Petaluma. It was like walking into a dream. It’s a 1930’s Mediterranean work of art, built so well it makes contractors swoon. I’ve brought much of it back to life, but there are still some major projects I'd rather do with a certain someone. If that doesn’t interest you, let’s go live overseas, I’m easy.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Enjoying, in general. Enjoying life, people, music, movies, and oh yeah, food. Food is joy. From French Laundry to the burrito truck on the corner, I’m in. There’s nothing better than enjoying a glass of wine, some amazing cheese, and good music while cooking a great meal with someone. I take very good care of myself and always will (gym, cycling, flax seed - all that), but I think there’s a balance to be made somewhere between pushups and cupcakes.

My metabolism. I should be 400 pounds. Some find it vexing.

I always liked the way Hemingway would describe huge feasts with long, rambling lists of food and drink. So here’s a jumbled list of good stuff:

The Beatles, A Confederacy of Dunces, The Black Keys, The Daily Show/Colbert, Bowie, The Alchemist, Amélie, Vince Guaraldi, Biographies (John Adams, Keith Richards, Miles Davis, Daniel Lanois), Radiohead, Bill Evans, Lord of the Rings, The Big Lebowski, Stevie Ray Vaughan, American Beauty, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, The Clash, Debussy, The Usual Suspects, Stevie Wonder, Scott Pilgrim vs the World, Jeff Beck, The Princess Bride, Beck, Donny Darko, Snoop, Sigur Ros (and the movie Heima, wow), Badlands, Murakami, Game of Thrones, Punch Drunk Love, Family Guy, Marvin Gaye, Wilco, 30 Rock, To Kill A Mockingbird, 60 Minutes, The Matrix, eco-friendly sports cars, Monty Python, Zeppelin, Run Lola Run, Fats Waller, Talking Heads, Kubrick, Mozart, La Femme Nikita, Tom Waits, The Police, Top Gear UK, Les Paul, and Les Pauls
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Just one thing: love. Everything else is gravy.

Mmmm, gravy, I should add that.
Right then, two things: love and gravy.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Random thoughts:

Milk chocolate is for suckers.

I think the true mark of a President is shown in what he does after he leaves office. In that regard, to me, Bill Clinton is a hero.

Environmental responsibility is awesome.

Kindness is sexy.

Paris. Even after living there for two years, it never ceased to amaze me.

A happy childhood shouldn’t be a rare thing.

True magic (in relationship terms) IS a rare thing. I'm here because I'm optimistic, but I also find this online thing very inorganic. Forgive me if I drop out from time to time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I've listened to a lot of Styx. Seriously, a lot. Please understand, I was young, and a little confused. I promise I'm over it. But if "Come Sail Away" comes on the radio, let's just let it ride.

You’re kind, happy, strong, and smartass answers make you smile.

You have no need for drama, games or ego in your life.

You’re here because your heart won’t let you settle until you find what you’re looking for.

Also, if this sounds something like you: I want to travel, laugh, create, cook, garden, drink wine in moderation, grow, learn, give back, and love. I’m looking for that one beautiful soul to go forward with. It’s time our paths finally met.

Wow, that got heavy. Somebody throw a pie.
