I am thoughtful, friendly, and honest.

My Self-Summary

I am easygoing and have a zest for life. I'm a pretty spontaneous person and I think some of the best moments are the ones that happen out of the blue.

Two of my biggest loves are music and cinema. I try to catch shows when I can and I enjoy going out dancing in good company.

I love cooking and food, especially in good company. I like to experiment a bit in the kitchen but sometimes cookies rise like muffins and salt turns into sugar ... hmmmm. Thankfully it usually doesn't happen when I'm cooking for others. Though a muffin-a-fied cookie is just a big cookie, and bigger cookies means more love and care .. right?

What I’m doing with my life

I'm currently finishing up my Master's at U of T in the area of healthcare technology. Afterward, I'm planning to work either in the healthcare technology or music technology field.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: The Death and Life of Great American Cities, Ham on Rye, The Stranger, A Confederacy of Dunces, Ask the Dust, Notes From the Underground, The Futurological Congress,
Hardboiled Wonderland and the End of the World, Kitchen Confidential, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Welcome to the Monkey House

Music: I'm pretty open to anything, some favourites are Tom Waits, Bad Brains, Dead Kennedys, Joy Division, Sonic Youth, The Make-Up, Pavement, Nick Drake, Erik Satie, Deltron 3030, Ghostface, GZA, Cannibal Ox, Soulwax, Foals, Erlend Øye, The Avalanches, The Black Keys, Television ... my last.fm profile for the curious

Movies: Breathless, Feu Follet, Zazie in the Metro, Spring Summer Fall Winter and Spring, This is England, The Young and the Damned, Akira, Footloose, Ghostbusters, anything with robots

Food: I'm open to try anything though I am allergic to some shellfish ... but I love lobster bibs.

On a typical Friday night I am

Exploring, hanging out with friends, seeing a show, watching a movie or sitting down with a cup of green tea and a book. Crab walking. Moon walking. Crip walking.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I can't really ride a bike that well. When I was first learning how to bike I wiped out into a pile of mud with sharp glasses and got cut badly. Many years later my friend tried to teach me in a parking lot late at night, only to have a van roam in and circle around me non stop. Finally, a few years ago I was trying to learn again on a friend's bike ... I lost control, hit a girl and knocked her down, but we ended up becoming good friends :)

My grandfather doesn't know this but one summer my cousin and I sneaked through a window into his room (the only room with air conditioning and which he always locked) while he was napping. I took the ink that he used for brush calligraphy and brushed a few strokes on his bum during his nap. We were toddlers mind you, it was pay back for underpaying us for all the worms he had us dig for his pet turtle!
