My self-summary
I pay my bills by bartending, but my passion in life is music. I am best at guitar, but enjoy the challenge of learning new instruments and returning to guitar with a new perspective. I love accumulating random bits of information and figuring out how things work. This has led me to building my own musical electronics (amplifiers, effects pedals, synths).

I dislike organized sports. I don't want to watch them. I don't want to talk about them. I would prefer that you did not chant about them in public.

I do not want to have children, or take on a position of responsibility with other people's children. I don't mind occasionally entertaining them, but I'm not a role model.

I am no one, gets, and nuprin references
What I’m doing with my life
-trying to amass as much self built analog tone generating and shaping equipment as possible while integrating it with modern sound capturing technology to expand the possibilities of live performances.

-finished my third tube amp, and i am parts sourcing for a rotary speaker/tube amp combo now.

-after restoring two pinball machines i really have the bug to design and build one for myself. an artist friend has agreed to do the graphics.

-i spend a good deal of time gathering information on the internet, i always get my money's worth out of my cable modem. my latest discovery is the online database of patents-yes, i know you can hardly contain your excitement.

-my bar tending position gives me the time and flexibility to pursue a variety of interests and to enjoy life. i don't dwell on the future. i don't have lofty ambitions. i have a path i'm traveling down but i want to enjoy ALL the distractions along the way.

-i own a house, so i'm not trying to come and crash on your couch (that was ten years ago).
I’m really good at
-speling

-forgetting to type in a separate program that will alert me to my errors.

-wearing mismatching socks

The first things people usually notice about me
my physcial presence. in some strange twist of irony, i was given the body of a professional football player.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books

Mostly nonfiction pertaining to electronics at the moment. I've read too many sci-fi books to list or remember. Some authors I've enjoyed in a crude chronological order (definately not all inclusive) are: maurice sendak, tolkien, piers anthony, lovecraft, steven donaldson, gaimen, herbert, asimov, niven, castaneda, israel regardie, crowley, burroughs, fowles, rushdie... damn I'm forgetting so many. Most of the ones we're expected to read and some that we're not. definitely too much sci-fi.

T.V.

I don't have a t.v. in my house, but there are some programs I either purchase the dvd's for, or download online. arrested development]], the simpsons, family guy, dr who, mr show, deadwood, carnivale, about 10 min. of each lost episode, the marshall silverman self-hypnosis infomercial, the office, twin peaks, most of the adult swim lineup.

Directors:

everything by kubrick and lynch, most coppola and (even though he's whiny) tarantino. I'm a huge fan of bizarre or disturbing films, think the holy mountain or leolo. dario argento, terry gilliam, christopher guest, darren aronofsky, and all the usual cult classics.

Music, in no particular order:

arcade fire, the pretty things, my bloody valentine, jimi hendrix, the smiths, mercury rev, syd barrett, daedalus, bowie, pretty girls make graves, mr bungle, dan the automator, stereolab, serge gainsbourg, idaho, can, the beatles, bjork, zed leppelin, dungen, walter and wendy carlos, star pimp, belle and sebastian, miles davis, the pixies, the velvet ungerground, squarepusher, miranda sex garden, vincent gallo, jeff buckley, tones on tail, the mothers of invention, plaid, radiohead, tricky, spacemen 3, hawkwind, ratatat, bongwater, duran duran, angelo badalamenti, joy division, the pharcyde, king crimson, pink floyd, laurie anderson, dosh, the sea and cake, violent fems, john zorn, delia derbyshire,mc chris, the residents, the kinks, his name is alive, kramer, the white stripes, pavement, king diamond, numbers, bach, einstrzende neubauten, beck, goblin, portishead, air, mick harvey, lovage, sonic youth, richard cheese, broken social scene, yes, nurse with wound, mfdoom, the yeah yeah yeahs, guided by beers, boards of canada, tori amos, the kills, autechre, mike patton, the decemberists, the boredoms, bloc party, iggy pop, grant lee buffalo, skinny puppy, strawberry alarm clock , the clash, the soft machine, dead can dance, broadcast, akron family, iron maiden, legendary pink dots, tribe called quest, mars volta, bahaus, misfits, modest mouse, devo, talking heads, built to spill, the vaselines, laibach, ween, fred frith, the streets, and many more.

Food:

i try and always cook my own meals. i've been big into bread baking recently because my pasta maker decided to stop working. i improvise when i'm cooking and never follow recipes. if someone 'challenges' me to make a specific dish i'm not familiar with i'll look at several recipies for the general idea and most likely add something new. i enjoy creating new exotic dishes, but i make a few things that always get requested by friends: peanut butter chicken stir-fry, ginger garlic pork, lasagna (doubters are always converted), hummus, some form of cheesecake, baklava
