My Self-Summary

I eat the fruit on the bottom last. Children love me, but old ladies are afraid of me. I have a soccer mom car. I am a mild germaphobe, yet I have kissed my dog on the lips. I take a suspicious number of hot showers. I sing all the time. I have seen a three legged elephant. I'm from California, but I love New York. I know the view from the ivory tower, but I prefer the ground. I know the view inside an eight-oared shell, but I prefer the sound. I am willing to try a million different things, but equally content to dwell on one perfect moment. I have exactly three spatulas, and one is not for cooking. I know exactly why I am here. But I could be wrong.

What I’m doing with my life

I feel liked I've lived a few lives already. I have an undergrad and grad degree in Political Science. I trained at an elite level for rowing. I dabbled in stand-up comedy. I taught political science courses for a few years after coaching for a while at Columbia University. For the past several years, I've been directing the programming for this non-profit that I helped get going...it uses competitive rowing and academic support to empower NYC high school students...it's pretty cool. Lately, I've been dabbling in writing and making up new games to play with my dog.

Lately, books by Saramago, Bukowski, Morrison, Orwell, Seuss...quesadillas with fresh veggies, thai food, tuscan italian, greek, anything on a brunch menu...love, love, love movies but haven't been out to see anything but UP recently...anybody with a soulful voice and an acoustic guitar floats my boat, though I listen to everything from Radiohead to Kanye...
