My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
WOO, UPDATE

Straight, white, cis-male.
Anticapitalist, antifascist, feminist, polyamorist*, skeptic.

*I'm not -exclusively- seeking love/romantic/fucking relationships, so am more than willing to meet fascinating folks for friendships, fun, frolics... fhqwhgads?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Sound techie stuff whenever I can, dolescum when I can't.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
False modesty! Actual modesty?
Pattern recognition and critical thinking, or at least I'd like to believe so.
Listening.
Social anxiety.
Making mountains out of mole hills, and vice-versa.

You should probably instead ask me what I'm really bad at, that's a much more interesting (read: indulgent) question.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Beard. Maybe the accent, too, which is perpetually in flux.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books:
Srs bsnss modern authors like Umberto Eco, Jean Paul Sartre; "genre" and short story writers like Poe, Kipling, Lovecraft; "classics" like Defoe, Dumas; "classics" (other sense) like Polybios, Thoukydides; more recent chroniclers like Bede and Anna Komnina; comics folks (mostly internet-based Canadians) like Kate Beaton, Joey Comeau, Ryan North, and Pat Mills.
Also, lots of nonfiction/reference.

TV:
Not much at the minute so far as what is currently scheduled, but I've enjoyed/am enjoying American Horror Story, Orange is the New Black, Game of Thrones (getting through the first book, which my younger brother has been nagging me to read since about twelve years ago), and ofc the classics like Buffy, Firefly, Black Books. Some anime, too, but apart from some (apparently) obscure 90s series, I'm not much of an authority.

Film:
Das Boot, a lot of Hitchcock (The 39 Steps and Dial 'M' for Murder are my pick of his best), The Stepford Wives (not the Frank Oz version), The Little Shop of Horrors (yes the Frank Oz version, and the Roger Corman version), nearly anything with Vincent Price (The House on Haunted Hill, The Tingler, Theatre of Blood, Witchfinder General), John Waters, David Lynch. Probably a lot more that I'm forgetting.

Music:
Bastro, Breadwinner, Breeders, Camera Obscura, Fryderyk Chopin, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Don Caballero, Antonín Dvořák,
Earth, Ella Fitzgerald, Gustav Holst, Mississippi John Hurt, Ink Spots, Kelis, Killdozer, Low, Melt-Banana, Minutemen, Joni Mitchell, Nina Nastasia, of Montreal, Roy Orbison, Pavement, Pixies, Django Reinhardt, Rodan, Greg Sage, Erik Satie, Pete Seeger, Shellac, Nina Simone, Slint, Stooges, Talking Heads, Amon Tobin, Vaselines, Hank Williams Sr., Wipers, X-Ray Spex, Neil Young, ZZ Top.

OH, and I like games, too (video, board, and roleplaying varieties), but there isn't a header for those anywhere else. Maybe message me if you're interested in such things yourself?
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Music
Good company
Room for privacy
Cinnamon
A book, a game, or some knitting.

Food, water, air, sunlight, etc. would probably be nice, too.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
HISTORY!
Space
Creative projects (but ONLY thinking about them, mind)
Other people (why are they so shitty?)
Other people (how are they so amazing?)
Myself (I might be kidding myself by not putting this at the top of the list)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
...glad that the weekend precedes Monday morning.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Idk. Ask? Be more specific? I don't really perceive "private" as a continuum; something is either private, or it's not.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
Please do!

I have a lot of anxiety about talking to people, so if you've messaged me and I haven't replied: I'm really sorry, please hang in there, I'm most likely not snubbing you deliberately (though it may be a while before I do get back to you). So, if you don't feel like you have the time or energy to invest in someone who might not always have their mental health crap completely under wraps (and it's totally fine if you don't), consider this fair warning.
