Srs bsnss modern authors like Umberto Eco, Jean Paul Sartre;
"genre" and short story writers like Poe, Kipling, Lovecraft;
"classics" like Defoe, Dumas; "classics" (other sense) like
Polybios, Thoukydides; more recent chroniclers like Bede and Anna
Komnina; comics folks (mostly internet-based Canadians) like Kate
Beaton, Joey Comeau, Ryan North, and Pat Mills.
Also, lots of nonfiction/reference.
Not much at the minute so far as what is currently scheduled, but
I've enjoyed/am enjoying American Horror Story, Orange is the New
Black, Game of Thrones (getting through the first book, which my
younger brother has been nagging me to read since about twelve
years ago), and ofc the classics like Buffy, Firefly, Black Books.
Some anime, too, but apart from some (apparently) obscure 90s
series, I'm not much of an authority.
Das Boot, a lot of Hitchcock (The 39 Steps and Dial 'M' for Murder
are my pick of his best), The Stepford Wives (not the Frank Oz
version), The Little Shop of Horrors (yes the Frank Oz version, and
the Roger Corman version), nearly anything with Vincent Price (The
House on Haunted Hill, The Tingler, Theatre of Blood, Witchfinder
General), John Waters, David Lynch. Probably a lot more that I'm
Bastro, Breadwinner, Breeders, Camera Obscura, Fryderyk Chopin,
Creedence Clearwater Revival, Don Caballero, Antonín Dvořák,
Earth, Ella Fitzgerald, Gustav Holst, Mississippi John Hurt, Ink
Spots, Kelis, Killdozer, Low, Melt-Banana, Minutemen, Joni
Mitchell, Nina Nastasia, of Montreal, Roy Orbison, Pavement,
Pixies, Django Reinhardt, Rodan, Greg Sage, Erik Satie, Pete
Seeger, Shellac, Nina Simone, Slint, Stooges, Talking Heads, Amon
Tobin, Vaselines, Hank Williams Sr., Wipers, X-Ray Spex, Neil
Young, ZZ Top.
...This is meant to be the shorter version D:
OH, and I like games, too (video, board, and roleplaying
varieties), but there isn't a header for those anywhere else. Maybe
message me if you're interested in such things yourself?
