My self-summary
I'm a New Jersey boy who moved to CA 16 years ago and never looked back, though I do find myself missing it a little in the summer.

In the winter I like to head to Tahoe on the weekends to snowboard whenever I can (sadly not to much this past winter). When the weather is nice I'm all about getting out and having an adventure on a Saturday, though the occasionally lazy day sleeping in late is pretty nice as well.

I have become something of a beer/wine snob and enjoy having a drink or going out to a bar with friends. My fridge isn't happy if it doesn't have a few good beers in it, IPA these days. That said I've become a lightweight as the years go by and like waking up feeling good.

Working out and being active are important to me. I'm not obsessive but I try to live a fairly healthy lifestyle (I'm not giving up pizza). Currently taking a break from soccer but looking forward to getting back in a league if I can make the scheduling work.

For the past 6 years I've worked for myself and love it. I don't think I could go back to working for the man.

I know the difference between your/you're and there/their.

I'm going to tackle the 800 lbs gorilla and try not to sound like I'm complaining because I'm not, I'm happy being me. I know its hard for you to believe that all women don't go crazy for a guy who is 5'6". All I can say is if that is the only reason you are not writing back, be brave and take a chance. You just may be surprised. I certainly won't complain if you are taller then me in a pair of heels.
What I’m doing with my life
Just trying to enjoy it and make it a little bit better as I go along.

I own two small businesses. One in the sports medicine/fitness field and one in the apparel industry. I've done the first my entire working life and it pays the bills, the second is the long term focus. I've had some great press coverage and spend a lot of time trying to expand our social media presence and develop effective advertising.
I’m really good at
Over analyzing my shopping purchases.
Ironing shirts.
Picking good books and movies.
Cooking the few dishes I have mastered.
Writing long emails.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I've been giving this section some thought. It seems like we all just want to look smart and sound pretentious when we list books we like. So to go against that I'm going to give you an honest tour of my bookshelf.
Shelf 1: behavioral economics and business books like Freakonomics, Nudge, Tipping Point, Buying In.
Shelf 2: Stieg Larson, a book on beer, a volume of early Hulk Comics (very funny to see how things were perceived 50 years ago). A pile of gardening books on cactus and succulents
Shelf 3: My all time favorite book The Jungle Book and some odds and ends.
Shelf 4: Textbooks from business school, marketing and investment books.
Shelf 5/6: A few local guides to hiking, text books and other resources that relate to my training business/sports medicine/exercise physiology.
There area few other odds and ends that I'll spare you except for Edward Abbey's Desert Solitaire, another one of my favorites.

In my kindle from the past few months: The George RR Martin Game of Thrones series, Fight Club, Picture of Dorian Gray, Hero: The Life and Legend of Lawrence of Arabia, Into the Wild, Unbroken, John Adams, two investment books and my backup unread books Moby Dick and Tale of Two Cities (will I ever get to these last two?).

For a while I was on a kick of reading classic literature that I had somehow not read in school and can honestly say I like Tolstoy, Dostoevsky and Ayn Rand.

My movie tastes are varied. Among my favorites are: Lawrence of Arabia, Dr. Zhivago, Star Wars, Casablanca, Conan The Barbarian, Godzilla (the original), Ratatouille, Up, Seven Samurai, The Jungle Book (animated version only), The Station Agent. The list could go on and on but that is a start.
The six things I could never do without
Good beer.
Jasmine green tea.
Email.
Regular work outs.
A few solid, loyal friends.
Cereal.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Sex, hey I'm a guy.
How to grow my business.
Do I need to post a picture of myself with my nephews to show my tender, nurturing side?
Do I need to post a picture of myself chopping wood to counter my tender, nurturing side and show that I can keep you alive if we are stranded in the woods?
On a typical Friday night I am
Out having a drink with friends. Hanging out at home watching a movie. It depends on the week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Well if we end up talking we can go over all the questions that you answered that I didn't because I don't want to publicize every interesting aspect of myself.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 24–40
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
*You have a good sense of humor.
*If you are up for a challenge but one well worth it.
*Want to have a drink and see if we have any chemistry. Yes I am actually hoping to meet someone where it can turn into something long term. I suppose if its not meant to be that's what makes it short-term dating. I'll steal someone's phrase that I liked and say I ideally want to meet that person I can have a "forever crush" on.
*Are looking for a new friend to ski/snowboard with, go hiking on a Saturday with or just have drinks one night (damn you all my married with children friends who can't hang out as much any more).
*Actually want to meet if we seem to get along. Yes I will ask you out if we get along. It might be two days or two weeks. If you are not actually interested in meeting someone don't wait two weeks to say so.
