I am bubbly, intelligent, and creative.

My Self-Summary

Frustrated, I throw the ancient and droll book against the far concrete wall. It bounces softly to the ground, only a few pages bent which leads me to ponder the superior binding process of the early 40's to what is now common. Then I remember my anger. Leave to power-stricken editors to feel that Procopius's detailed descriptions of Justinian's wars is far more interesting that what he has to say about the architecture. Then I realize that perhaps even history books must appeal to the mass populace and I search for the much needed information elsewhere while sipping at my apple chai.

That's only the most recent evening of working on my thesis, but it is often repeated somehow or another most any evening I attempt anything with that paper.

So, yes, I am a bookworm. Or like to be. Most particularly, I find anything involving Byzantium and the Middle Ages fascinating... oh, and I will argue with you thoroughly if you begin to tell me they were the "Dark Ages"

What I’m doing with my life

This is my final year of undergraduate work (thank goodness) and I will be leaving school with a B.A. in Fine Arts and Art History in May. Afterward, I hope to be attending graduate school on the East Coast, preferably in the D.C. area and will be heading out there mid-summer.

Other than that, I work in the writing center on campus as somewhat of a tutor (yea, i feel bad for those who come to me to!). But, I do have to say, it is perhaps the best job I have had in a while.

Other than that, my days are filled with classes, procrastination, senior seminar papers, and preparing art work for shows.

I’m really good at

well, art I would imagine. Particularly pencil drawing, sculpture, furniture design and lithography.
I am sure there are a multitude of other things I am half-way decent at, hopefully...

The first things people usually notice about me

This is a tough one, seeing as I am not other people.

I would have to say either my eyes, hair, or clothing (depending on my mood it can range from a tshirt and sweats to gothic victorian), or if they are around me a bit longer I am sure they will notice that most of my time is spent doodling in the margins of papers.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Now, I know these lists could go on forever.

Books: LOTR, The Idiot, The Brothers Karamozov, the Simarilion, anything by Edgar Allan Poe, Van Balthasar, Alice and Dietrich von Hildebrand, Patristics or Maximus, Ephram, Basil, and Pseudo-Dyonisius, Jane Austin, Bonaventure....

Movies: again, LOTR, the matrix (the first one), all Mel Brooks movies, the Thin Man series, everything by Pixar, The Princess Bride, -- Mystery Science Theater 3000, The Dark Knight, Iron Man, -- okay, nearly all marvel movies, Casablanca, The Maltese Falcon, Big Trouble, Airplane, Sherlock Holmes, Pride and Prejudice (the A&E version), Black Adder...

Music: Imogen Heap, Breaking Benjamin, Owl City, Disturbed, Evanescence, t.a.t.u., D.J. Tiesto, Navan, Drowning Pool, Godsmack, House of Pain, Utada Hikaru, Juno Reactor, Massive Attack, Linkin Park, Pavarati, Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole...

Food: anything Italian

The six things I could never do without

I believe I could do without nearly everything. The only thing necessary to me in life is to not only be loved unconditionally, but to love completely in return.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Theology and God, Nature, Beauty, the Good, the smallest minute things life to the vast greatness and multiplicity of events/people/ lives that becomes so overwhelming that one must stop and go back to those small and simple ideas. I think about what I could do better, how I can be better, where I am going verses where I would like to be. My family and friends. My cat and how he knows just the right time to snuggle with me. Why chocolate ice cream is the best.
I wonder why humans can't fly yet I have wanted to every day of my life.

On a typical Friday night I am

busy, unfortunately. Running around trying to visit with friends and family, though occasionally i stay in and veg out with the roommate on movie marathons, good food, and alcohol.
