Your Notes
Edit your notesI am empathetic, random, and perceptive.
My Self-Summary
I don't believe in religion, I believe in people.
I love music. More
then anything I love good guitar music (bass, electric or
acoustic). I listen to a lot of Metal - I love the music but it has
to have good rhythm and melodies, not just noise. I am by no means
a complete metal-head though, my first love on music was funk. I
play bass
guitar + play Acid Jazz + Heavy/Trash Metal - two
different styles, but then there are many sides to me. Lately I
think I would like to learn to play the piano.
I also have a love for anything techie, and I'm always the guy people
call to sort out their computer. Though at first appearance you
might not notice it, I am underneath a big geek with a love for web
design, a touch of programming and a lot of time for open source.
However, all that tech stuff has to be tempered with Music,
Friends & Family and good nights out. Without them I'd go mad
I'm sure.
I also really like reading and prob have a book on 100
different topics. I like to learn new things.
I think life is for having fun, whilst being good to the people you
care about. Whilst I might seem easy-going, the pursuit of
knowledge is
important to me and I'm always trying to learn something new
whatever that may be at the time. I believe that there are many
layers to life, and everything is also composed of many parts (one
layer is often named "bullshit" and should be ignored) and that you
have to look at the world as a whole rather than be trapped inside
your own little universe and fill it with frustrations.
I like to be in new
places, new cities with new people but at the same time I
always like to come home to the things and people that I know and
love.
What I’m doing with my life
One day I'd really like to put together a proper band, either
playing REAL metal
-and not the current trend of more style then substance crap that
abounds- or to revive Acid Jazz the way it was really meant
to be played.
My only real ambition in life is to be happy, though lately I feel
a deep urge to just doing something completely different with my
life - yet I'm not sure what that is yet.
I’m really good at
Bullying computers until they inevitably yield to my will.
Having a good time & keeping people entertained.
Solving complex problems.
Learning.
I wish I was good at writing, as I was at school, but I have never really pursed this to any degree. I think the real problem is that I would need something to write about (why can't I italicize here?) -though as my mind wanders far too freely, I would never settle on a subject long enough to pursue this. I would also like to be more artistic and recently started drawing, though the results are not pretty at the moment! I would like to try my hand at photography sometime, but the lack of a camera scuppers this - despite being a geek, a proper digital camera is the one gadget I don't have.
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: Mostly I read technical or music books, or something which
teaches me something new - my bookshelf ranges from PHP Programming
to Martial Arts techniques and reading Music. I have read all works
by Bruce Lee and
the best has to be The Tao of Jeet Kune Do, this led me to an
interest in Chinese philosophy especially Taoism - but I am not
fixated on any one subject, I like to take the best out of all life
has to offer. Fiction wise I have read nearly all Terry Pratchett novels, but
need to catch up with the more recent ones. I also have most of the
work by Jhonen Vasquez, the artwork appeals to me the most - in a
dark way of course.
Otherwise I like a good horror novel. Usually I rely on someone to
give me a book or suggest one to read, so if you know of any tell
me.
Currently reading "Gothic Tales" by Elizabeth Gaskell.
Movies: Tim Burton movies come top of my list - The Corpse Bride,
and Nightmare before Christmas. But my favorite movie is probably
The Crow, for personal reasons more than anything. I also love all
Bruce Lee movies, and have a guilty love of really bad horror
movies.
Music: Jamiroquai, Metallica, Diamond Head, Mercyful Fate, Opeth, Eminem, Mowtown & Motorhead. Really.
Foods: Chocolate is clearly the king of all edible materials man
has developed. A damn good fried breakfast after a heavy night
drinking comes close.
The six things I could never do without
My friends.
My guitars.
Freedom.
The internet.
My family.
Air.
Maybe not in that order.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
When I do have nothing to do, it may seem as though I daydream a
lot - but usually I'm either working through a computer/programming
related problem in my head or visualizing a song in my head which
I'll later play (or try to). Lately I've been thinking a lot about
the devils
interval.
All other times I'm undoubtedly thinking about sex. I am a bloke
afterall.
