What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now, I'm writing when I can, working a lot, and have a little indie publishing gig for a board game. That's the bullet points, I think, other than that, there's the usual suspects of keeping up with friends, reading, the Kardashians, etc. all vying for my elusive free time. I'm gearing up to go to grad school, hopefully next fall, to get an MFA.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I’m funny, and smart, and pleasant, and modest, and charming, and honorable. I’m what people refer to as a “real deal”.

I doubled down on English degrees so.....not life decisions lol.

This year I finally got around to getting an Audible subscription, which has worked pretty well for me because I don't tend to have my wits about me enough to read anything worth reading when I'm on the bus at 5 AM. But I've managed to work my way through a good number of books since I started, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, The Martian, Solaris, Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Book Store, Ready Player One, Snow Crash, The Door into Summer, Wild Seed, and Starship Troopers have been the ones I've both started and finished.

Honestly though, I’m kind of a classics man myself, in terms of favorites (Count of Monte Cristo, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Of Mice and Men are probably favorites among them though. I'm all about dat high school lit). Akira was f*cking rad (censored for modesty. And the prudish), and I've been reading a bunch of comics lately.

Favorite movies would probably look like: Kill Bill vol. 2, Life Aquatic, I heart Huckabees, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, Bad Education, 21 Grams, Magnolia, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Akira…

My favorite show ever was a cool little show on FX called Terriers that ran for one season a few years ago, which is probably pretty hipster of me, but it was good. Bored to Death was also great. I’m pretty big into Archer.

I’m pretty scattered in terms of my musical preferences, though I guess mainly I listen to underground hip-hop, so like Brother Ali, Blue Scholars, Atmosphere are probably the big ones. But I also listen to a lot of arena rock (REO Speedwagon might be my all-time favorite band, don’t judge), and I grew up on funk, and guys like Maceo Parker and Shuggie Otis have a special place in my brain.
The six things I could never do without

stories. Whatever I recently read or watched or am working on, that's what's running through my brain whenever it's left idling for too long.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I don't think I really have a 'typical Friday'. Sometimes I'm with friends, or out at a bar, or I might be a bit pooped from not getting enough sleep the whole week. I'm a grab-bag of zany possiblities
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

Two beers is all it takes for me to be sincerely, emphatically, enthralled in the sport of Figure Skating.

I'm afraid of horses. They have the cold stare of a psychopath and a kick that could kill a man.

Also, Bees.
