I am outside of time, saving the world, and cannot be stopped..

My Self-Summary

Things that I am into/ things that get me SUPER pumped up/ things that just generally make me feel alive in 100 words:

Curiosity, creativity, nanobots, 50 push-ups a day, good jokes, pancakes, milk, homemade stew, foreign films, saving the world, Paul Newman movies, 80s action movies, ill-advised road trips, teaching, language, Japanese, philosophy, science, the romantic implications of time travel, poetry, adventure, love, good books in bed, climbing trees, swimming underwater, blankets, robots, the space behind waterfalls, Mario Kart, LOST, Flight of the Conchords, The Current, chess, breakfast at 12am, movie marathons, staying up far later than is reasonable, Quasimodo when he breaks the chains, Data when he saves the Enterprise, complete and total honesty, the good, the beautiful, and the true.

What I’m doing with my life

Attempting to inspire my future and past selves.

I currently live in Uptown within walking distance of the Lagoon and Uptown theaters -- two of my favorite places to be on a Friday night.

I also sometimes make videos: www.youtube.com/kotashq

I’m really good at

thinking outside, inside, and all around the box... and then making a fort out of the box.

The first things people usually notice about me

That I am a human.

Okay, since that was too easy, BONUS:

Top 5 Qualities I Look For In Another Human Being, Friend Or Otherwise (oh, how I love top 5 lists!)

1. Honesty - I’m talking the kind of truth-seeking honesty that is not afraid to talk about anything, complete openness – basically trying to be as honest as possible, as often as possible.

2. Confidence - Knowing yourself, loving yourself.

3. Sense of humor - In my experience, sharing a sense of humor is the number one criterion for a good friendship. This probably should have been number one!

4. Intellectual curiosity - Questioning everything, and on a constant quest for new interesting questions, and answers.

5. Moral beauty - A strong sense of empathy, and an intuitive sense of morally right actions. A person with this quality will also be moved by seeing moral beauty in others (example: choking up at the end of good movies).

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Mind if I narrow the question? (these things can get kind of long). Let's see, for the month of April, roughly, here is my favorite book, movie, music, radio station, TV show, website, webcomic, food, newly coined emotion, and quote:

1. Still Life With Woodpecker by Tom Robbins
2. Adventureland
3. Dresden Dolls
4. NPR Really liked the recent Russell Brand interview.
5. LOST
6. www.ted.com
7. Dinosaur Comics
8. Indian
9. elavation
10. "So long as you have courage and a sense of humor, it is never too late to start life afresh." Freeman Dyson

The six things I could never do without

Oxygen, food, water, sunlight (doesn't necessarily have to be *our* sun), temperatures ranging from 50 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit, nostalgic conversations about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

science, philosophy, polyglottery, art and the third culture, music, nanobots, love, poetry, saving the world, good jokes.

Note that taken to their awesome extremes, all ten of these things become more or less the same thing. Let's call this point "x". (It is this point that I'm really interested in).

On a typical Friday night I am

probably hanging out with friends (85% probability), maybe watching a movie (40% probability), maybe watching a powerfully gripping Steven Seagal movie (1% probability), or maybe, if it happens to be on TV again are we are properly medicated with drink, watching Con Air (.1% probability). Who knows? Maybe you'll be there too, watching it with me, witnessing the awesome power that is Nick Cage, laughing and laughing and laughing (.00024% probability).

By the way, I actually calculated this. It's right.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

When I finally had to throw away the water bottle that had kept me alive for six weeks of solo backpacking though Europe, I almost cried.

You should message me if

If your mind lights up when you talk about ideas; if you have left pieces of your heart in multiple continents (or would like to); if you have a mantra, and would like to share it; if you are a dreamer; if you are looking for a partner in crime, but not for actual "crimes" (well, maybe a few crimes, but only the fun ones, like chewing gum in Singapore).

Or, if you want to challenge me in Mario Kart or chess!
