My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am an extrovert who is interested in culture, language, and travel. I am looking for someone to rock it out with. Honestly, I am content, happy, and healthy alone but life is way more enjoyable when you have someone to share it with. (Sappy, cheesy, cliche, trite...I know...) And by extrovert I mean that I kind of break into old dance team routines throughout the day. No really. No drinks involved. I love kitchen dancing.

I lived in Spain after college and have traveled in Western Europe, Mexico, and in 2013 I went to Hong Kong and Macau. I would love to travel through Central and South America, but am up for wherever, whenever.

I am active, but not an athlete: mostly running. Well, I call it running, but most people would call one contact leg walking. I. Am. Slow. I also do Pilates. I also my bike and always, always choose the stairs. No really- always.

I like to spend my money on experiences rather than things, and like to spend time outdoors and with friends. I love live music and sporting events. I spent way too much time watching the World Cup and the best birthday present I have ever received was tickets to a Timbers game.

It is really important to me that my partner be interested in world issues and other cultures and experiences. I teach in a Spanish Immersion program at an elementary school and am passionate about equity and social justice. Over the years I have become more involved with my school district in these areas and have open conversations about race daily. Obviously I have unpacked my knapsack of White Privilege. (Bonus points if you know what the hell I am referring to.)

I am divorced and have a son. I have full custody. I could write a telenovela about my 7 1/2 year marriage and might some day...

The story can be summarized easily, so if you are interested I can fill you in on the highlights. It is rare that I ever mention my ex, so don't count on me to pry about any of yours. If there is something you want to know, we can talk, but I really like to think that painful things continue to hurt you the more you relive them through endless analysis. I don't need to think about him anymore. I prefer to think of other men as themselves and not just simply a version of "not him". Trust me- I already know you are better. Don't worry about it.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working, taking Pilates classes or "running", going to the park with my son, discovering beer all the while dreaming of international travel, and sunny days.

Going out with friends and oh, yeah, teaching children how to read. I know. You are welcome, Society. (I totally just personified that with an uppercase letter. Not an error.)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being honest, listening, empathizing, being realistic...I am a good traveler- I adapt quickly to situations. I also am damn good at accepting people as complex, unique beings. So you are losing your hair or are an unidentified member of the millions of people who are on the autism spectrum. So? Guess who isn't a robot either- me! You are the perfect you- let's rock it out. I'm pretty fun.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am funny and animated. I am interested in almost everything and can have conversation about just as much. I am a diligent student of Mindful Inquiry.

Right now I am really focused on my leadership duties so I currently just read the Nation and am wading my way through "Communities of Color in Multnomah County: An Unsettling Profile." You know, just light reading. I also am about to start prerequisites for my admin license, so lots of reading about illiterate children, budget cuts, and institutionalized racism.

My taste in all areas is eclectic.

I don't regularly watch TV, but do sometimes rent movies. I like Shakespeare, Tarantino, Woody Allen, foreign films, documentaries, but of course Anchorman and Jackass. Life is too short to not just laugh about ridiculous situations and people. I heart movies. Let's just leave it at that.

There is nothing like a concert, so I like to find groups that are playing locally and make myself into a fan via Spotify. I usually choose indie rock, but like music in Spanish, folk, classic rock, punk, I even like classical and musicals. Opera- count me in. Recent concerts: Helio Sequence, Grouplove, Portugal. The man, Built to Spill, Dads, Weezer, The Generationals, Milo Greene, Priory, Tango Alpha Tango, Zella Day.

I love healthy food that tastes like it isn't, and occasionally really unhealthy food that tastes amazingly unhealthy. Yes, I eat meat and it tastes cussing amazing and makes me feel like a superhero. I do however eat a lot of salads. A lot. I like salad. A. Lot. Of. Salad. And trail mix. I slam that business daily.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Beyond Maslow's son, exercise, chocolate, books, time in the sun, travel....
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Moving back to Spain, or at least California where there are more sunny days. I love warm weather. I also am constantly translating everything that people say and am critical about salient errors in grammar or pronunciation. People's speech fascinates me. Nerd alert. What? Me? Whom not who- damn it!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Eating dinner with friends after having gone for a walk or eating out. I usually rest and connect on Friday and go out on Saturday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am aware of this character flaw, and work against it, but...sigh...if I like you- no wrong can you do, and I will always consider your happiness and be annoyingly loyal and understanding, but if I don't...I usually really like people and think they are amazing, but sometimes...

You wouldn't mind being a step daddy and know you want a life partner. Clean your pants- I am not saying you have to be ready to dedicate your life to me anytime soon, but I want someone to, as I have stated, rock it out with long term style.

...but I am up for concerts and Timbers or Blazer games. Who doesn't mind a few hours of mob mentality and/or dancing, (and definitely,) drinking beer? (Don't worry, I'll pay for my own and am a fun drinker- not a pukey face sloshed drinker.)
