Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
A native of Boston, I love living in this city. I'm always looking
to fill my calendar with fun and unique events. Everything from
international pillowfight day and the midnight marathon bike ride
to summer bonfires on the beach. I'm always looking for some new
adventure, and if something exciting is happening in 15 minutes
that I didn't hear about before, just let me get my jacket and go
there right now.
I enjoy playing board games
with my friends. We have
been having board game night every Thursday for over 5 straight
years now and it is one of the best parts of the week. Mostly I'm
talking about euro-games like Carcassonne, Race for the Galaxy,
Power Grid, Pandemic, etc, but I'm never above a good game of Cards
Against Humanity or Texas Hold 'Em. I also like the occasional pub
trivia night, and I've been doing a lot of puzzlehunts lately.
These are things like BAPHL or Mystery Hunt.
On the outdoors front, I like going sailing
a lot in the summer and
the winter. I find both quite relaxing, but both are better with
someone else. Also, biking (for fun, exercise, and transportation)
and running. I've run a few relays across the width of
Massachusetts and even the Boston Marathon as a relay (long story).
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
"Taking adults and turning them into kids, and taking kids and
letting them save the world." That's my personal mission. What that
means is that I build immersive themed attractions. I want to
entertain, but in a way that really makes you feel like you're in
another place, instead of just staring at a screen. Right now I'm
doing this freelance. In the past I've had some amazing adventures
working in Disney World, running graphics for rock concerts in
Asia, programming playful fountains, putting video games in movie
theaters, and installing interactive museum exhibits. Every new
project is a new adventure, and I can't wait to see what the next
one will be.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Figuring things out, solving problems in unique ways, and
remembering obscure information. I love any kind of challenge and
I'm really good with puzzles
. I like to tell stories but I'm
bad at keeping them short.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably my bright red hair, to be honest. Although that's only if
you can stop me long enough to see more than just a blur. So in
that case I'd say my overabundance of energy.

Long time favorite is Down and Out in the
by Cory Doctorow, but recent suggestion is The
Martian if you haven't read it yet.
Movies: Real Genius
is my favorite. Some
other movies I own include: Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Count of
Monte Cristo, Big Lebowski, Outbreak, Sneakers, American History X,
and many more.
I'm a big Sorkin fan with The West Wing
and Sports Night
both being excellent. Also enjoy (or have enjoyed) Suits, White
Collar, Psych, Doctor Who, Sherlock, How I Met Your Mother, among
My homemade ice cream. Thick soups like corn chowder,
butternut squash, or pumpkin. Anything with garlic. Guacamole.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
In no particular order: projects to work on, puzzles to solve,
people to talk to, public transportation, and TiVo
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I think about a lot of random things. How 4 would be the perfect
number of hands to have. My many ideas for new restaurants (and
other things too). Space. How the world is biased against us
lefties. The YouTube video that will make me an instant 15 minute
internet celebrity. How sweet potato is the uncanny valley of pies.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Most likely I'm planning the many things that will happen on
Saturday and Sunday. I seem to have an inability to plan far enough
ahead, and it is hard to find people who want to do things on last
minute notice. I'd love to find someone who is as excited by making
spontaneous plans as I am.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm reluctant to use the label poly, but I like the idea that we
don't have to be perfect partners, that we can enjoy each other for
what we do like, and fulfill other needs elsewhere. Although I'm
still open to the idea that "the one" is out there, and I just
haven't experienced the kind of love that would make me want to be
monogamous yet. So I guess what I'm saying is that I'm still open
to both serious or casual dating, and you shouldn't be deterred if
you're only looking for serious. In the meantime, I find the
variety of different open relationship arrangements people have to
be fascinating, so I'm happy to discuss it more if you're curious.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You are open to spur of the moment plans. I love adventures and the
excitement of doing something unconventional, especially on a whim,
just for the sake of doing it. Doing it for the idea. Even
failures/disasters can be great if they make a good story. What I
need is someone who is as interested as I am in treating
unrealistic jokes as serious suggestions.
I'm also always happy to share interests and the things I am
passionate about with new people. And if you like listening to and
telling stories as much as I do, let's find a bar/cafe with a patio
to sit around and swap stories.
