I am open, inquisitive, and insightful.

My Self-Summary

I never know what to write for these silly things. Everytime I try and write something clever, it comes off as forced and obnoxious. Let's just lay out the facts.

I graduated about a year ago with a degree in Psychology, which has nothing to do with my current plans.

I don't like the bullshit that goes along with a lot of dating. I like things to be upfront and clear, it makes my life much easier. Selfish, I know.

I feel like I know a lot of really awesome people in Portland. However, I want to know more people. I'm a social butterfly at heart, I'm just really bad at meeting folks.

I sing in the Portland Gay Men's Chorus. I have met some of the most amazing people through PGMC.

I recently got a nerdy, nerdy tattoo, my first. It was an incredible experience, and I can't wait until I can get some more work done.

What I’m doing with my life

Right now I have a great job that I love with a certain large independent bookstore. I adore my coworkers, love what I do (talking on the phones), and actually look forward to going to work (not to mention the paychecks!).

Also, I'm trying to get my life in order so that I can go to law school in a few years. I want to go into family law, specifically adoption law. I had a conversation with a judge lately about geriatric adoption, and all of the issues going on with that, and I think it's something that I could get into.

I’m really good at

I think I'm a pretty good singer, I'm a good listener and I think I give pretty good advice.

The first things people usually notice about me

I have no idea what people notice right away. Maybe you can tell me?

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: I have really been enjoying short stories lately, Neil Gaiman, Abigail Thomas, Kuai Hart Hemmings. I just read World War Z, a must read, I think.

Music: Bach, Haydn, Sondheim, Cole Porter, Rodger's & Hart (or Hammerstein), Lady Gaga, Keane.

Movies: Cradle Will Rock, Playing by Heart, De-Lovely, Clue, Murder by Death.

The six things I could never do without

Books, music, cute pair of shoes, my glasses, computer, iPod

I spend a lot of time thinking about

What I want to do next. I think about my friends. I think about music and the expression of music. I think about how my perceptions of the world are probably so different from that of others and what that means.

On a typical Friday night I am

Happy hour, Portland has great happy hours...

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I am a huge nerd, also a hopeless romantic.

You should message me if

You think I'm interesting, you want to grab a coffee or a meal. You're tired of all the bullshit that goes with sites like this. You're looking for a real person.
