Like Groucho Marx, I was born at a very early age. I have a quirky sense of humour and try to see the comedy in all things. After all, all that matters in life is funny and laughter when times are tough can go a long way in helping you through.

I am comfortable with myself and do not pretend to be anything or anyone I am not. I can be shy at first, but the right person will inspire me to be gregarious and very open. I pride myself on personal integrity and being a gentleman. I appreciate honest and straightforward communication and promise the same. I'm loyal and devoted in love, and a hopeless (hopeless - it should be repeated, it's that hopeless) romantic. I have close relationships with my friends and family and I enjoy doing things for the people I care about.

As for my interests, I enjoy watching independent and foreign films, as well as going to museums, art shows concerts, theater performances and going hiking, but I can be perfectly content staying at home and listening to music or renting a DVD as well. I enjoy conversing about a wide variety of subjects including books, politics, music, art, and movies. I love to learn new things and I am always reading or researching something. I enjoy cooking even though I’ve not had enough time to do it lately.

I regularly come up with unusual theories about things I see around me. My current theory is that Global Warming is caused by Bono, the lead vocalist of the band U2. Bono's ego has been growing at an exponential rate since 1982. That much mass in one place is slowly causing the Earth's orbit around the sun to slowly decay. This in turn has caused rising global temperatures as the Earth is closer to the Sun. Scientist call this the Bono effect. This 'Bono effect' is the reason humanitarian NGO's keep Bono moving around the globe constantly. If Bono were to stay in one place too long, the Earth would go tumbling into the Sun.

As for what I'm looking for, I suppose I'm looking for someone who won't beat me up and take my lunch money. (I did mention the sense of humor, right?)

Seriously though, I think I'm looking for what everyone else is looking for. Aren't we all looking for that one person whose face lights up just because we are there? Aren't we looking to ask the question "What are WE doing this weekend?" rather than "What am I doing this weekend?"

My dream girl is funny and smart, she greets life with class but isn't afraid to let her hair down and dig in her fingernails. Enthusiasm, intelligence, sincerity...those are the sexiest qualities a woman can possess.

This is often interpreted as "what job do you have"...I have a job, but I work to live, not live to work. What makes life for me is enjoying my music collection (which is only more enjoyable if I can share it with another music lover), concerts, hiking, golf, following the Red Sox and finding The One who will like being my partner, best friend and cherished one.

Embarrassing myself in front of people I'm trying to impress? I wish that weren't so easy....my sense of humor helps me survive...

My deft line and cosmic wit?

Similar tastes are fine...but I also appreciate someone who can bring me a new perspective. I like a sharp mind in my partner.

A book that made a big impression on me is the Biography of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a minister who stood up to Hitler in the 1930's and was killed for it. I am awed by people of such conviction and heroism. I'm not a WWII hero, but I believe that conviction can carry weight in every day interactions....like showing someone that you care instead of just talking it to death. I favor action over words.

Movies: Joyeux Noel is a favorite as it portrays my all time favorite Historical event - Christmas 1914, when both the German side and the British sides stopped the war for a day, sang Christmas Carols, Exchanged gifts across the lines, played a football match, and there was peace on Earth for a day during one of the most horrific wars that ever was fought. I love Fritz Lang's film 'M,' - perhaps the greatest suspense film of all time. I'm a fan of Jean-Pierre Jeneut films, especially 'Delicatessen,' and 'City of Lost Children' Blade Runner is also a favorite, but I wish Ridley Scott had thought to place it further in the future (2019 is just 7 short years away). I love Terry Gilliam Films and I am constantly amazed at how prophetic 'Brazil' is.

I am really into music and collect records (I have about 4,000). I have pretty eclectic tastes. As far as I'm concerned, good music is good music regardless of genre. It's easier to list the least few records I've purchased:
