A really good evening together would be a home-cooked meal -- together or I'll do it alone -- with both of us having a glass of wine and laughing and bantering. Then we eat and have a bit more wine and then watch a great movie and then whatever.
I like to discuss things but not into arguing. Talk about just about everything from the intellectual to the everyday.
I have a confession to make: I'm not living life to the fullest every moment. If I live life at about 81% I think I'm doing pretty good. When I read how intent some are to live every single moment to the fullest, I become exhausted and take a nap.
If you area woman who place a high value on "a good sense of humor", I feel I qualify. At least you should give me an audition.
I work out by lifting weights a bit, making my shoulders broader, thus making my waist seem smaller. I'm serious about finding a girl friend who clicks; two are better than one in so many ways. I love to feel comfortable with someone.
What I’m doing with my life
I teach both at the high school and adult education level. English and acting. Have done it for a long time and enjoy it. Try to bring my sense of humor into the classroom. If I entertain myself, usually the students are having fun too. Keep 'em laughing and learning.
I’m really good at
Cooking a nice meal with a complimentary wine (think I've already said this). Love to experience something (like going to LACMA) with someone special and then discuss it and laugh about it or analyze it with great . . . um . . . insight over a glass of wine or coffee or some liquid. But I usually go out to dinner or cook at home and watch a good movie cuz how often does anyone go to a museum.
The first things people usually notice about me
Blue eyes with twinkle. Quick wit and easy laugh. I'm bigger than
they are. I use words like "esoteric" in a sentence and seem to
know what it means (or good at faking it).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Almost anything British. Detective novels. Some nonfiction. Like to discuss but not argue. Saw Stephen King's Dead Zone again the other day and realized why Christopher Walken is a star. Like the series Grimm but it's getting a bit complex. Love to go see a movie on a Sunday and then have brunch somewhere -- particularly if a good game is on. Nice.
Enjoy cooking -- particularly comfort foods. Pot roast, Beef Burgundy, meatloaf (am going to a meat loaf cook-off soon), American classics such as Chicken a la King. Love to go wine tasting, enjoy happy hours a lot.
The six things I could never do without
Witty and friendly banter
a home cooked meal
nurturing friends and family who listen and care
back rubs and back scratches
my Abyssinian kitty, Winnie
"The Prisoner" wine (and others)
Sherlock Holmes and other good mystery stories
cards and board games
I spend a lot of time thinking about
new recipes (and sometimes I not only think about them but actually make them.
On a typical Friday night I am
Throwing away uncompleted TO DO lists from the week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Okay, it has to come out sometime. I actually listen to Easy Listening (aka elevator) music while reading and studying. I realize that this is a deal breaker for some, but the truth would have to come out.
You should message me if
You are interested in meeting a tall, athletic, well-educated guy who knows how to make a Shepherd's Pie. And will be happy to give you a foot rub after we've had the minimum number of dates that are required before it's okay to give a foot rub.
