Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I know what love is. I want to find it again. I hope I don't sound
arrogant, but I don't know how anyone who has experienced the
wonder of truly being in love could ever settle for less? (So why
do so many people settle?)
I spent what seemed like hours answering that questionnaire- Is it
a valid tool for finding a great partner? I found most of the
questions could have more than one "right" answer depending on
As far as I know, there aren't any computer gimmicks that can rival
actually having a spontaneous conversation with someone. Even an IM
seems like a giant leap beyond attempting to get to know a total
stranger via dueling email....
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Raising a 14 yr old daughter part time. Love water and snow skiing,
tennis, water activities, running around with my dog.... but
generally loathe sitting and watching televised people doing the
same. Known to throw a pretty fun dinner party. I enjoy working
with my hands. I'm a builder- restorations/ remodels, but keep it
loose enough to allow for spontaneous travel when fun opportunities
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Resisting an invitation to toot my own horn.
Meet me & find out.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
How often does someone announce what they first noticed, besides
"hey, you've got mustard on your chin!"? I suppose what this is
really asking is what we assume people notice....
(Um... The tall guy who joked with people in the elevator?)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Presently reading Empire Of Illusion- Pretty scary because it's
probably accurate. Recent favs: Slouching Toward Kalamazoo, Gone
Girl, Art Of Racing In The Rain, Everything Is Illuminated, Life Of
Pie, Merle's Door, The Weight Of Water, Water For Elephants... Just
read War Horse per my daughter- Her latest fav.
Favorite recent movie: Gravity. Shocking, because I cried at four
different points in the movie. I didn't know SB could act. Was also
shocked to have loved Silver Linings Playbook. Didn't know the lead
in that could act either after Hangover movies. So nice when things
take a turn for the better. I'm a big fan of old guys: Coppola,
Nichols, Kubrick, Hitchcock.
Don't really use my tv except for dvds, but loved Breaking Bad and
I'm told there are more things of that caliber. I love a
recommendation that pays off.
Music- Blues, classical, acoustic jazz, but mostly a lot of high
turnover pop/chick-rock: Duke Spirit, Sepiamusic, Jason Falkner,
Petra Haden, Nerina Pallot, Elizabeth & The Catapult....
Food- Sushi, Italian, French, Thai, bbq, (I eat everything), + love
good wine with a good meal.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Love, Friendships (incl non-human), free time/leisure, music,
creative outlet, physical/mental challenge, loosely structured
travel, the freedom to sometimes bend rules (like listing eight
things when they ask for six. Whee!)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
stuff that prompts some people to ask "where do you ever come up
with these things?"
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Join me for one- covers some ground. (Thankfully, since I'm filling
this thing out on a friday night.)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
To any stranger with an internet connection?:
When I was about 25 my mother gave me bright yellow briefs with a
miniature 12" ruler printed on the front. (You'll have to trust me-
it was funny, not weird)
