I am uber-independent, but also very social and spend a good deal of my downtime hanging out with my friends. I want to be a lawyer who works for the greater good, and if that means being a poor lawyer, then so be it! I love to travel, hike, cook, have bbqs, find people to take me to costco, and go to the dog park. I am horrible at crossword puzzles, but getting better every day. I am a big fan of balancing going out and being social with evenings at home with the puppy, cooking good food, and watching tv or reading. I know that sounds cheesy, but I am all about balance. I very much enjoy nature, especially when I am in a cozy fire-warmed cabin looking out into said nature. I have had the same haircut since I was in 4th grade, and I feel pretty happy with this decision.

Just finished up law school and am finally an attorney, albeit an unemployed one. I am job searching and paying the rent working at a cafe, which I secretly love. I talk to interesting people all day, give treats to dogs, drink free coffee all morning, and am generally off by 2pm. It has proven pretty hard to rip myself away from this culture, but I am working on it.

Pretending like I am a great dancer. This is not actually the case, but I still like tearing it up every once in a while. Operating on very little sleep. Holding my whiskey like a champ. Singing the dude part of romantic karaoke duets.

Also, I swear to god I have a ridiculous sense of humor. I guess not the kind that comes out in an internet dating profile, but I find myself wildly hilarious most of the time.

I am NOT very good at twitter. I am trying to understand, but currently I think I have two followers, and they are my friend and her mom, so.... work in progress!

I read an annoying amount of law-related material, but I always keep a little fiction around. I love Haruki Murakami and Milan Kundera, among many others. As far as music goes, my taste really runs the gamut, but I wouldn't say "everything." Classic rock in the fall, ella and billie in the freezing cold, neko case in the summer. I like going to shows, but don't often enough. I think the last few I have been to were tennis, first aid kit, aimee mann, pickwick, and stephen malkmus. I love trying new restaurants, but am also a huge fan of cooking at home. I look at food blogs now, which I take as a sign that I am now a true grown-up. Look out, world!

Honestly, one of the most important qualities I like in a person is versatility. I like KEXP just as much as the next girl, and find most of my music through it. I also like rocking out hard to lady gaga and robyn when I am in the gym or at karaoke. I like documentaries and foreign films, but also have an appreciation of silly comedies and have seen When Harry Met Sally and Annie Hall enough times to quote them from start to finish. I have a palate for fine wines and love going out to a fancy meal every once in a while, but can find great pleasure in a box of kraft mac and cheese. I find people who can like nice things without getting snobby or elitist about them unbelievably rare and refreshing.

My puppy. Dive bars. My badass friends. Breakfast. NPR. Music.

How I would rather be backpacking on another continent, or how I am going to get a job after school in this economy. But I try to stay away from the "J" word and concentrate on how lucky I am to have great friends, a great dog, and a great apartment. Now if only Seattle had a winning baseball team....a winning ANYthing team...

Honestly, winding down from the week with my friends. I usually go out to a happy hour or something with friends and play the evening by ear. Silly OKCupid thinking any of us have a completely typical Friday night....

I am pretty honest and open about everything, but I tend to save the real gems for people I actually meet.

You are definitely looking for a partner of sorts, but are also independent and have your own thing going on. If you really hate dogs, I am probably not the person for you. If you want to teach me how twitter works. If you vote, and (at least generally) not for republicans.
