My boyfriend satyrico and I recently moved to Jax from Australia. Everyone is surprised when they hear this because it usually happens the other way around, but here we are and we're here to stay. We've explored most of the city and find live downtown...apparently we're the only ones. It's been fun so far, but it's also been tough to meet people and make friends.

I run the most ridiculous business ever. I am a jeweler of sort. Yes, I buy and sell jewelry for a living...I try not to keep it all but I still have to fund my future jewelry (aka sparkle crack) habit. If we end up being friends, I'll make you love everything that glitters.

Being such a ridiculous business, I have loads of free time and I'm currently trying to find something to fill it with. I want to paint but wanting and getting my ass motivated are two different things. I'm loving the budding art scene in Jax, you definitely don't get that in Sydney - everything is just bigger and more pretentious there which is discouraging. So from this you can deduce that I love art. I try to go to art walk regularly but really it's just a nice excuse to drink.

Making chocolate chip cookies - that's the only thing I can safely say I'm good at because I can back it up any time you like.

Touchy subject!! People would always get the wrong impression of me in the first meeting (at least I hope it's the wrong impression). People seem to think I'm an airhead because I'm blonde and shy on the first few meetings. Either that or that I'm snobby bitch, but this has to do with my accent more than anything else.

I'll leave it to you to get to know the real me and decide for yourself but I really don't think I'm snobby at all!

I like all kinds of books, from sci fi to period novels and classics, to modern writers. As long as it's good, I'll read it. I enjoy both fiction and non fiction. I'm in heaven right now because we live walking distance to the library which is great and I hang out there a lot. Currently I'm reading about 5 different books. Like I said, I have a lot of free time.

Like satyrico, I have a fascination with the 60s, and regularly watch movies and listen to music from that decade, but really I love to watch just about any kind of movie. Make of that what you will. Lately I even began to like Westerns. I also love French films - why, I can't tell you. I also can't tell you why they seem to repel men. One of my favourite movies ever is "Contact" and I will always remain loyal to my teenage love of "Interview with the vampire".

Being in America is also teaching me to like horror films. This is very weird for me. I'm not sure what the U.S. and horror movies have to do with each other but it seems to have only started here with me.

Our music taste is a bit different to what's the usual fare in Jacksonville. We are children of the electronic era and I especially feel very at home with it. We're going to see the Junior boys in November as an example.

Being here in Jax made me realise how much I love water and fishing or just being on the water. I am saving money for a boat now!

Friends.

Look, I'm in my 20s (still) and moved to another country where I don't know anyone. Fun. I gotta have it.
