My self-summary
To start with I am quiet when people first meet me. I start talking more once I get past the initial stage of being awkward. I am very much INTP on the Myers-Briggs personality test.

So now some general likes and dislikes?
I don't care for competitive sports (my only opinion of the Red Soxs is based on their fans clogging the T), but I do enjoy a lot of non-competitive sports. The focus should always be on having fun and enjoying what you are doing. Physical play is a good term for how I view sports. I do like running, hiking and rock climbing, ultimate frisbee but I don't do them often enough.
I enjoy lots of board games and computer games (but I'm not a hard-core gamer). I also like lots of old movies and a fair number of new ones. I love going to math lectures, even when I don't understand what is being discussed. Reading kind of just happens, I enjoy it but I don't usually seek it out on purpose. Going dancing and to plays or concerts is a lot of fun but I don't do it very often.

I'll leave it at that. There should be some surprises when you actually get to know me.

I am a geek, an insomniac, and shy
What I’m doing with my life
I am currently taking a break from academia. I was studying pure mathematics at Northeastern U. with a strong emphasis on abstract algebra (extra points if you know the difference between groups, rings and fields).

For the near, I am working for Habitat for Humanity, in their Restore. I'm also studying some programming languages to make finding better paying work easier. This is mostly to give myself time to remember why I liked math in the first place and figure out what I want to do in the long term. I am trying to teach myself; perl, python, ruby, LaTex (the program not the material), Maple (again the program not the tree). I usually study these when I'm bored and notice that I haven't looked at them recently, but I'm make slow progress in some of them.

My life is pretty uncertain these days. I don't know where I'll be in a month or a year. I hope that I will soon be employ somewhere far away. It seems silly to start a relationship when I may have to leave in a month. But I'm up for anything that can handle the potentially spastic nature of my future.
I’m really good at
I kickbutt at minesweeper! People tell me I'm a good cook and I have no reason to doubt them. I'm also told that I'm good at math. It has been said that I am good in bed, but the sample size is far to small for any meaningful statistical significance. I'm good at driving big vehicles that need lots of repairs. I do lots of household repairs. There are probably other things I'm good at I just can't think of any at the moment.
The first things people usually notice about me
The first physical thing people notice about me is some combination
of my beard, my hair being in pigtails, my skirt, my boots and how
these things don't seem to fit together. The first thing people
notice about my personality is that I tend to be a bit quiet and
reserved.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I dislike labeling favorites. I find that it reduces the chances that I will try new things. There are several books that I have read several times and will continue to reread for the rest of my life. And within music, movies and food, there exists items of a similar nature. This does not mean that I like them the best. It means that they fill a particular need for me that reoccurs. Whenever I need to lift my spirits a bit I reread Siddartha by Hesse or listen to Vocalise by Rachmaninoff
There are also things I can not stand like McDonald's food or horror movies

The six things I could never do without
Well by the sheer force of reality I have learned that there are a great many things I can do without but, I don't know what I could never do without. I don't think that it would be very fun to experiment. Lots of people put things friends and family here, but I don't want to go into solitary confinement to find out if I can handle it, even if I can it doesn't seem like a good time. If I did test and the result was that I couldn't do without this one thing, wouldn't I be dead?

In the spirit of the prompt; books, someone to cuddle with, my personal space, feeling pretty (I'm A Pretty Princess, Goddamn You!), tea, and I don't know...duck tape
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What to do next, An interesting math problem, how to be a better person, whatever books I'm currently reading.
On a typical Friday night I am
....If you average over all of time, on a typical Friday night I don't exist. If you restrict the time period to the past couple of years then I'm usually relaxing relaxing at home. I'm may be reading, watching a movie, baking or something like that.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm eight feet tall and can hold my breath for 2 years and sometimes I lie.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 18–50
  • Near me
  • For new friends, short-term dating, activity partners, long-distance penpals
You should message me if
Oh just give it a try! What is the worst that happens?

If you are a straight guy from the boston area and you are looking at my profile. I don't even live in boston any more, why are so many straight guys looking at my profile? Please tell me what led you to my profile!

Really good reasons to message me:
-You want to talk math.
-You can/want to teach me some of the things I'm trying to
teach myself (or anything else).
-You are chill with me not fitting into any one
gender stereotype.
-You think I'm cute. (everyone likes to hear that)
-If anything on here sound interesting.
It should be noted that I love it when a girl makes the first move. It makes me feel like a pretty princess.
