I am open, quirky, and intelligent.

My Self-Summary

I'm looking to take over the world someday, with robotic chipmunks and a squeegie....

No?

Okies then... I run a book club and a wine club. Start there...both meet once a month and I've met great friends through them. I love being outdoors when I have the chance, and am not a huge fan of watching television unless it's late at night and there's nothing else to do.

What I’m doing with my life

Just looking to see how this goes. I am in my early 30's, professional, in marketing. Well, that's the boring stuff...

Other things in my life? I love learning, being happy. If there is something out there that makes me happy, I tend to jump in. I own a Nikon D80 and love photography. I am learning to play guitar, want to get advanced scuba certified this year, and if I can get my new passport back in time, will be going for London and Ireland for the holidays. I am planning on getting my sommolier certificate starting in March, and really believe in following your passions.

What am I looking for? A date of course! Meeting new people, making new friends, seeing how things go, if there is chemistry... Sounds good to me, how about you?

I’m really good at

I am really good at:
1. presenting in front of large groups of people (I mean, it's what they pay me for)
2. finding the bright side in life
3. plotting to take over the world, mostly on Fridays.
4. talking about wine. you never know when it comes in handy.
5. I think I'm a good cook, and have been told. I used to work for a culinary school, and some of it rubbed off. Sadly, not as a chef, though I have worked in restaurants.
6. Taking photos, but sadly, I haven't been paid yet.

The first things people usually notice about me

My smile, eyes, and personality. At least I think so...you would have to ask them.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books?
I have gotten autographs from John Scalzi and Neil Stephenson in the past year. That should say something about what I read...but it's also pretty eclectic. I am reading My Life in France by Juila Child right now, which is facinating. I subscribe to The Economist, but mostly to have something to read at the gym.

Movies?
The Princess Bride, High Fidelity, Clerks 2, True Romance, and The Departed...

TV Shows?
Picking Daisys, Firefly, The Colbert Report & John Stewart, Big Bang Theory,

Food?
I am a foodie, and am willing to try new things, as long as sometimes I am not told what they are first. I lived in France for a bit, and have friends from everywhere, which leads to a lot of experimentation with food. One of the reasons I love the bay area is that you can get great food all over the place. And yes, I love spicy.

Music: Coldplay, The Decemberists, Jason Mraz, Flogging Molly, Abney Park, David Bowie (kinda all over the place)

The six things I could never do without

Six? Only six? Eeeps!

1. Books. I read way too much.
2. My camera. I'm in love with it.
3. My kitchen. Yes, cooking makes me happy. It relieves stress. I love learning new things, experimenting, and exploring.
4. My passport, which is currently being renewed, hopefully in time for me to go to London in December...
5. My friends. I have some amazing friends.
6. Optimism. You have to look on the bright side of everything that happens. If you don't, you loose. (When life get's you down, Mrs. Brown...)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Life, the universe, and everything. And lately, the macro lense I want to buy, the sommolier class I want to take, and the advanced diving certification thats been calling me...

On a typical Friday night I am

I have no idea. What's a typical Friday night? Sometimes I cook for people, sometimes I go out to dinner. I love going to plays and events, and am always looking for something to do out of the norm. I'm a social person, but I admit being social with just one person makes me just as happy as with a group. Especially when I am comfortable with that one person.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Oh, not going to admit that!

You should message me if

you have a quirky sense of humor, enjoy being unique and want to meet new people.
