I am lackadaisical, machiavellian, and perspicacious.

My Self-Summary

I'm an introvert. That means that by my nature, I tend to entertain myself rather than seeking the company of others. Sometimes I do want to meet other people, and that's why I'm here. Being an introvert doesn't mean I don't like company, it just means that I need time to recharge between social periods.

I like gaming, with cards, board games, video games, whatever. I enjoy the social aspect of it as much as the actual game play. Lately I've been playing a lot less board games than I did before, as my work schedule has was in the way, but I have since gone on day shift and I hope to play them more. At the moment I spend a lot of time languishing at home playing World of Warcraft, Guitar Hero or various other video games.

I moved to the portland area 5 years ago or so, and while I have met a few people, they're all really just board gaming or LAN party friends or work friends, not the kind of people you call up just to hang out with or whatever. So mostly I just spend my time at home.

What I’m doing with my life

Spending 40-50 hours a week at work, and the rest at home. I don't really feel an urge to go out places at the moment. If someone else urged me I might go...

I’m really good at

You know how most people briefly jump or scream or whatever when someone sneaks up behind them and surprises them?

I'm really good at doing absolutely nothing when that happens. Ice cube down the back of my shirt... nothing. Alone at home and my roommate sneaks in and comes into my room and shouts "boo!"... nothing. Surprise tickle in the dark... nothing. At work, all alone, and my smartass co-worker tries to sneak up and startle me... nothing, followed by a withering glare (from me).

The first things people usually notice about me

I don't really think I have anything that stands out. Unless maybe I forgot to comb my hair, sometimes it gets a bit out of control if I sleep on it wrong or don't comb it after a shower, and I walk around looking like a mental patient for a while. The rest of the time I just look like a pale geek (which I am).

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Anything by Steven Brust, David Weber, Eric Flint, David Drake, Neal Stephenson, Douglas Adams, Steve White, or Jim Butcher is probably something I enjoy.

Movies: Donnie Darko, The Boondock Saints and Orgazmo. Kind of a tie really. I've seen them all at least 5 times each, probably 10 times each.

Though the first two seem to be rather popular picks, so you can call me unoriginal if you want. I assure you they became my favorites on their own merit.

Music: E Nomine, Lesiem, Nightwish, Era, Luca Turilli, E.S. Posthumous, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Gregorian Masters of Chant, and most recently Epica, Kamelot, and Within Temptation. There is nothing wrong with you if you have never heard of any of these artists. I have rather odd tastes. My preference is music played in a modern style mixed with stuff like symphonies and opera (examples would be certain parts of soundtracks). Not that I dislike other music or anything. Except country and rap.

Foods:

Likes: Cheese, Blueberries, Canned Peaches, really hot salsa.

Dislikes: Chocolate, nuts, beer, coffee, and mint. Yes, really. But that can be a good thing for you! If you're ever around me and I get anything free that contains any of that, I give it away to those near me.

The six things I could never do without

Does anyone else get annoyed that they feel that you need to pick six things exactly? Like, if you pick five things or seven things, there must be something wrong with you?

Anyway, I went ahead and picked six. Here's the first five: My board game collection, my computers(5), this awesome floor lamp I've got, the air conditioner blowing on me right now, and my music collection/mp3 player (NOT an iPod - I'm a rebel like that).

The sixth item is confidential. If you guess what it is, I'll tell you if you get it right.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The book or screenplay I might write someday, and what I'd do if I won the lottery.

Random other things that interest me: cats, Karaoke, Achewood (a webcomic)

On a typical Friday night I am

Unless I've met someone since writing this, I'm probably at home playing World of Warcraft on my computer or reading a book.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I am secretly trying to take over the world. Just in the planning stages now, I haven't overcome my laziness to actually start.

You should message me if

Anything you see here in my profile interests you.

Or if you just want to play some board games that's cool too...
