If narrative is more your style, here goes -- I grew up in the midwest and spent eleven years in New York for grad school and work. I then moved to DC in 2007 to start a business, watched it fail miserably (thanks, economy!), and moved to Chicago in late 2009 because... well... I figured if Balki Bartokomous can make it here, then surely I can.
I'm a huge music fan, and I spend a large chunk of my free time at the Empty Bottle, Lincoln Hall, Schubas, and the like. I even brave the urine-soaked smells of Ronny's from time to time. I bought a guitar last year to try to re-learn it after 10+ years, but unfortunately it's still sitting in its case. If I ever get around to it I'll take a class at Old Town School of Folk Music. I was never particularly good at guitar in the first place, so I'm not aiming too high or anything. I just want to write a song that will make women swoon and allow me to retire to a life of utter debauchery and uselessness.
I have no preconceived notions about what I'm looking for from this process, other than maybe just find someone who wants to hang out and watch Ninja Warrior marathons.
