I am green, blue, and red.

My Self-Summary

strange things make me laugh...like all new original flavored gum.

my brain is 70% water.

i am decisively indecisive.

i also love to try new things, and as long as i live, i want to be learning; because of this, my friends in college used to give me anything Einstein, whom i still adore.

i am as comfortable in a dress as i am in shorts and hiking shoes, drinking beer and watching football, or wine and talking books.

in college, i was a member of an improv group and studied biology, psychology, and criminal justice. i am three credits short of a russian lit and language minor, and a math minor....now i dabble in computer languages and do not-for-profit research. i also spend my free time reading and writing. i usually work out problems that i cannot find answers to myself in my writing. what time is left is spent hiking, camping, biking and just being outside.

i also am remodeling an old 1918 house just outside of downtown, and want to rebuild my garage to have a studio so that i can work on art (ceramics).

i seem to be rather outgoing, but i am actually an introvert, who has learned the great skill of being able to talk to all types of people. i had to, working in the service industry for years. it, however, takes me awhile to actually get to know and trust someone. once we become close friends, i will always be there for you.

What I’m doing with my life

waiting to see what tomorrow will bring.....

some of the things i have done with my with my life: volunteered with habitat for humanity, taught hand building and throwing ceramic techniques, designed graphic t-shirts, worked on a bridge construction crew, and as a summer camp counselor for kids with disabilities (greatest summer ever!), ....

I’m really good at

cooking, filling dots in on standardized multiple choice test answer sheets, smiling, making people think about the choices that they made or are about to make, writing, sleeping, and blushing.

The first things people usually notice about me

unless i am wearing my glasses (it is hard to miss them since they are bright red), my height...i am almost six feet tall and rather skinny. when i wear high heels i am taller than most people around me.

my mona lisa smile.

that i know something about a lot of things. my friends want me to train to be on a game show; however, i would rather be a lifeline (unless of course, i actually don't know the answer) as i do not like to be the center of attention, even though people think that i am outgoing. i am actually an introvert trapped in an extrovert's body.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

movies...shawshank redemption, bottlerocket, the royal tannenbaums, dan in real life, amelie, pan's labrynth, big fish, the great muppet caper, the princess bride, donnie darko, confessions of a dangerous mind, esotsm, delicatessen, mystery men, little miss sunshine, thank you for smoking, burn after reading, crash, fargo, the jerk, being john malkovich, adaptation, stranger than fiction, swing kids...

television... damages, rescue me, chuck, dollhouse, and almost anything really british (not americanized british).....

books...pretty much anything that i can get my hands on i read. whether i agree with it or not it helps me to refine what i believe. i read fiction and non-fiction alike. i just started the bourne trilogy, a lincoln biography, a world war II history, a trampy vampire novel, and a book about racism.

music...brett denin, glenn phillips, wilco, elvis costello and his wife, adele, morrissey, the clash, ramones, they might be giants, the shins, dave brubeck, ben folds, old 97's, michele shocked, peter bjorn & john, the platters, cake, death cab for cutie, terrance blanchard, charlie parker, vince guaraldi, royksopp, the cure...

food...blueberries, anything spicy, necterines, tikki masala, falafel, plums, sushi, tomatoes, coffee. saturday night, i made a homemade pumpkin and goat cheese ravioli with a sage beurre blanc. yummy! that might be my new favorite food...if only i would have written down the recipe.

The six things I could never do without

friendship, books/crosswords, sun, rain, laughing, and i'll let you fill in the blank on the last one......

I spend a lot of time thinking about

the letters b and e and the number 4.

sporks don't work well as either a spoon or a fork.

that dave ramsey is a genius only because he chose a group of people who obviously cannot control there spending, and told them if you give me some of your money, i can help you get out of debt.

the fact that a balloon, a simple inexpensive piece of rubber or latex, can put a huge smile on a young kids face, and how the cost of that same smile goes up the older the person gets.

why do cartoon characters only have four fingers? (well, technically, it is three fingers and one thumb.) they might need a middle finger as much as we do. especially those who have to smile all day long at amusement parks...they are not truly the happiest places on earth.

shouldn't psychics call us?

pinkie and the brain and what they are doing today.....

why do we say "seeing red?" or "they are just yellow." and the fact we attribute colors to people's moods, beliefs, ideas, etc...... the reason we have associated those colors to those beliefs....da ta da tada...is a completely interesting and usually a stereotypic journey in of itself.

why writers of television shows believe that musical numbers are good...and why i do i watch? musicals on stage, good, on tv, ~~.

the fact the flamingo's legs move more like our arms than our legs.

why commas are not really my friend.

charles schultz and jim hensen and what made them so wholesome and yet still so damn funny.

why when i googled cranium...crazy monkey games popped up in the top five.....it was a fun site!

what grows on "indiana" trees.....

bananas are 74% water.

how many people confuse opinion with fact. that is why they are called op(inion) ed(itorial) pieces instead of news stories.

On a typical Friday night I am

it depends on several things....usually it depends what my friends are up to, what i did during the course of the week (if i went out too many times during the week, i sleep on friday so i can continue on saturday!), what concerts are in town, what friends are in town, what movies have opened, what new book i started reading, what the weather is like outdoors, and what the price of tea in china is.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

that i have barbie feet.
