Maggie is a fairly quiet girl more interested in bike riding than bar hopping. She is always impressed by people who know themselves, have interesting things to say and constantly challenge themselves. Maggie cares about the environment, has no strong religious views and is always respectful of others beliefs.

As big picture items, I'm learning to be a better friend, working as a bureaucrat, developing my own traditions, biking as much as possible and planning trips. I'm an enginnerd, so forgive me but you won't find any literary marvels here.

Supporting friends & family through tough times.

I don't pretend to be a mind-reader.

I'm a decent cook in a wonderfully vegetarian kitchen. I'll try anything once, as long as it doesn't have meat. I'm pretty health conscious (I know my BMR and track how much protein I consume in a day). Thai food never gets old but Southern Indian is coming in a pretty close second these days.

Books and movies are where I revel in being a girl. Jane Austen is my favorite author an I've read Pride&Prejudice dozens of times (please try not to gag). Don't worry, I won't expect you to read my favorite novels.

Movies are kinda a time to tune out for me. That said, I will often purchase a movie because I was really impressed by it as a piece of art, not necessarily because I want to watch it a million times. Also, I can't handle scary stuff. Jurassic Park is my limit.
I like a variety of music, but my pre-set stations are public radio and alternative/hard rock. My all time favorite music is that which my friends and family play live.

My family, we are pretty tight.

I think I would cry if my race bike was stolen or permanently damaged.

Just about everything else is replaceable (even pictures these days, isn't that great?).

I'm an introvert which doesn't mean I hide in my house all day, but my energy comes from within and I can be pretty introspective. As a result, I frequently think about the direction of my life and global issues. There is a little life-planning exercise I find interesting. Imagine your life at the age of 60. Where are you, what are you doing, and what is important to you? For me, I imagine myself working as a volunteer for a non-profit, building clean drinking water in third world countries. I realize how idealistic and perhaps naive that sounds, but everyone's gotta dream, right?
