My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I overuse the word chill. I can't help it.

I'm an introverted extrovert who probably talks too much despite loving to listen to other people. It can take me a bit to open up, but once that happens, there might not be any stopping me.

I'm clumsy but think it's hilarious how often I drop things.

I love, love, love to travel but don't do it nearly as often as I want.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work for a non-profit in the foster/adopt world.

When I'm not working, I'm usually finding new recipes and putting them in a large folder as I promise myself I'll make them eventually. It usually takes me about a year to get around to each new one.

I also see movies as often as I can, and Netflix and I are on very good terms. I used to read voraciously, but have slowed down since graduating college. I'm trying to get back onto that train. Because books are amazing.

I was born and raised on the East Coast, which means I spend a lot of time apologizing for accidentally texting my friends there at 3 in the morning. I've been in California for going on four years. I'm not really sure where the time went.

I'm incredibly competitive about Trivial Pursuit and Candyland. Any other games I'm only mildly competitive.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
not realizing I'm singing out loud when my headphones are in. deviating from plans when it fits. And when it doesn't. Skipping ingredients I don't like when following a recipe. Laughing awkwardly when I'm nervous. Forgetting important things and remembering useless trivia. Gratuitous hand movements while talking.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!

a forever changing list.

I own a gross amount of movies and would have difficulty picking even just a few favorites. Movies I can watch over and over again, however, include the Harry Potter series, The Princess Bride, Pan's Labyrinth, Pacific Rim, and many others. I love National Treasure and have no shame about it.

I'm always looking for movie recs, especially anything with beautiful cinematography.

I'm super fond of young adult books but will read pretty much anything. I have a soft spot for the Harry Potter series (you might be noticing a pattern here), To Kill a Mockingbird, Dracula, Good Omens, The Lace Reader, Gone Girl, and anything Dahl. I dabble in non-fiction here and there, but I'm definitely mostly a fiction reader.

I'm also always looking for good book recommendations.

I will listen to any music at least once, but I really enjoy most classical/opera, Top 40, and anything that might be described as "ethereal witch music."

I love watching Chopped, Good Eats, and Cutthroat Kitchen. If it's on Food Network, I've probably seen at least a few episodes. Also into Hannibal, The Whispers, Wayward Pines, OITNB, the X-Files, and a few others.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Family and friends, plants, Internet, my car, recipe books, and a calendar.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
media-based things, particularly tv and movies. food. why throwing your head back and laughing is so much more satisfying than just laughing. social justice issues and how to work on checking my own privilege. flowers and the best way to grow them.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
recovering from the errands I run every Friday afternoon. Sometimes out and about, but usually watching something on Netflix with a glass of wine or Skyping with a friend. Also probably playing Harvest Moon.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My anxiety definitely gets the better of me sometimes.

Also I have an unfortunate tendency to swear too much.

Or if you want to talk and don't mind how awkward I can be. Especially if you're looking for a person to try new restaurants with.
