My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
So where to start? I'm Paul, I went to uni in York got a Masters in chemistry and have been working as a research scientist since. It’s pretty fun job as I spend most of my days tinkering and staring into the distance trying to look clever.

I can be kind of shy to start with but

In the real world I like to escape from the science and pretend to be creativey. I love music, I play the guitar (as it’s fun) and drums (as i'm not that bad =D) I’ve played in several bands over the last 4-5 years, the most recent failing when the lead guitarist moved to China =s

A big hobby of mine is writing, I've always had an overactive imagination and had a breakthrough when I decided to pick up a pen and expand these ideas. Wouldn't say I was great but its something I love doing!

Anything else? When it’s sunny I like to run, I’ve recently run two half marathons (finished in the top 30% *beams with pride*) or I go to the gym 2-3 times a week. I’ve been veggie for the last 3(ish) years but don’t be scared, I’m a willing chef and it’s kind of in the air at the mo.

Enough about me, I’m looking for someone fun and laid who can hold conversations about the important and or less so things in life. Someone to enjoy finer things in life with, so someone to watch tv/films with or play pool at the pub or play computer games or go to the theatre ... I’m sure you get the point =p

I know I’ve written a LOT but if you have managed to get this far then maybe you would like a bit more of a dialogue? email me! And we can be happy it’s hard for me to be shy over email as I would be in real life!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Hmmm not sure, well i'm a research scientist at the moment but don't really know what I want to do with my life in the long term . . . well i'd love to be a professional writer but that is unlikely to happen =p
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
MOST THINGS . . . i'm just too busy to mention them right now @.@ well maybe some of them.

I'm very good at cheering people up and generally annoying people with my talent of being able to be cheery and sarcastic at all times of the day =D
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Love reading and have a fair amount of books and will read anything but a big fan of sci fi or just plain interesting fiction. Fave authors: Iain (M) Banks and Douglas coupland.

Movies: I always feel that I sound like a shut in when i say this but I love TV and films everything from the epics (star wars/ lotr) to the absolute crap but fun to watch - Jesus Christ vampire hunter - if you havn't seen it you really should =p

Music: Anything I can sing or dance or air drum along to. Like a bit of a mix of music, fave bands: Death cab for cutie, jimmy eat world, weezer, manic street preachers, Pink floyd, styrofoam . . . and many more CD's weighing my car down =s

Shows: I love going to the theater but really don't go as often as i should - i am a bit of a closet thesp, with my GCSE in drama and all *PRIDE* but sadly have never got up the courage to do any am-dram

Games (an important category!): Massive Final fantasy fan!, kotor, Mass effect, forgotten realms and a fan of the cheesy shoot-em-up (Gears, halo, army of two)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Six? shouldn't be too hard erm . . .

1) Guitar (acoustic, black, shiny and perfect for relaxing)
2) Laptop (essential for writing and general internet time wasting)
3) My xbox (and fun people to play with)
4) Drum kit (great for a noisy workout or stress relief)
5) Company and conversation
6) My quilt (nothing better than curling, ideally with up with someone, to watch a film =p)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Oh god everything, often get very lost in daydreams! Reoccurring ones are: apocalypse scenarios, talking to aliens and elephants. Get a lot of my writing ideas from daydreams.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I share my bed with a stuffed penguin . . . hmm maybe that was too private? . . .
