My Self-Summary

I have so many things I want to do, and not enough time to do them in. I work 40-50 hours a week, so that doesn't leave a lot of free time. Though I try to make the most of it when I can. I love road trips. When I'm kind of down or upset, I just get in my car and drive and listen to the music on the radio. I love music. I believe life has a soundtrack.

Just moved to Wisconsin, and don't really know anyone there that isn't related to me or works for TWC. I'm looking for friends to hang out with and people that share common interests.

What I’m doing with my life

I have one of those degrees that seem to be a good idea at the time, but later on.... I'd need several more to do anything with it. So... that being said:

I work at the cable company. I paint. I sell my art. And I sit at home with the boy and dog.

I’m really good at

Making people laugh. I make faces and dance at work. Basically, I'm good at being who I am. And really, what else is there?

I'm also really good at convincing people I'm a lesbian. You'd be surprised.

The first things people usually notice about me

I walk really fast. It comes from working in a 225,ooo square foot store for 6 days a week for 2 years. Also, I have awesome gray eyes. And I'm probably crossing my eyes and sticking my tongue out at you.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I read anything I can get my hands on. Everything from Dylan and Yeats to Stephen King and Ridley Pearson. Some of my favorites are East of Eden (Steinbeck), The Poe Shadow and The Dante Club (Matthew Pearl), The Princess Bride (Goldman), and Inferno (Dante).

My favorite movies are usually musicals: Phantom of the Opera, Rent, Labyrinth, Nightmare Before Christmas. I also like the cult classics: Donnie Darko, Rocky Horror, Princess Bride, Army of Darkness, Dark Crystal, Time Bandits, and pretty much anything Monty Python.

I listen to everything. My can't live without collection right now includes Green Day, Rise Against, Fall Out Boy, The Killers, System of a Down, and All American Rejects.

I like food. I like to make Italian food: lasagne, fetticini alfredo, spaghetti. My favorite is definitely Greek food. There's just something about basalmic vinegar.

The six things I could never do without

music, art, philosophy, language, beauty, kindness

I often spend time playing my violins, guitar, or sketching. Philosophy is something that never really solidifies. I like to re-read Plato and Keats and find new meanings in what they've written. My main love is language, and so is my degree. Beauty and kindness make up for all the evil and ugliness that I see so often.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

A lot of different things. The meaning of life, what I plan to do with my life, how profitable sheep ranching is, how much money I'd need to install a commercial kitchen in a 6 bedroom house in Vermont, etc. I also spend a lot of time thinking about the books I've read. East of Eden took me about 3 days to process after I finished it.

On a typical Friday night I am

Either at work, or out with people. Or at home with my book, soul-mate, and dog. Usually the last one.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm afraid of snakes. And heights.
