My self-summary
I'm someone with a pretty full life... I don't have much free time, but I'm good at scheduling. As long as it's planned ahead, I have time to do even more fun things.

My hobbies: Climbing, making art at the Artisan's Asylum, playing games, and going dancing. The focus changes from time to time, but those are the big ones right now.

I like to read, but don't have as much time for it as I would like - there are too many things I want to do, and not enough time to get them all done.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm an engineer, so during the day I'm in front of a computer. after hours, I avoid that. I go out dancing every week or two because it's fun, and I love cooking dinner for friends or mixing drinks (though I'm not a bartender, it's just a hobby.) I make interesting vodka infusions, so far the ones I like best are coconut, ginger, cucumber, clove, toasted poppyseed, and sweet potato.
I’m really good at
Cooking, conversation, and being happy. I'm a solid rock climber, a passable guitar player, a good dancer, and a thousand other things. Bananagrams, Scrabble, Pairs in Pears, and Appletters are a roaring good time, but then any game is fun with interesting partners and/or opponents.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm always moving, and the long hair, of course.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books:
Cryptonomicon (Neal Stephenson)
In a Sunburned Country (Bill Bryson)
Running with Scissors: A Memoir (Augusten Burroughs)
Calculating God (Robert J. Sawyer)
The Best Recipe (Cook's Illustrated)

Recent movies I've enjoyed were Watchmen and Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

Music I've liked lately (though my tastes are wide-ranging and eclectic):
Client - Price of Love
Pooka - One in a Million
Muse - Uprising
KT Tunstall - Black Horse and the Cherry Tree

Food! Oh yes.
Roast chicken (brined) with carrots and potatoes
Maple-glazed pork roast
Beef Stroganoff
Walnut-parsley pesto
Stir-fry with tofu, fresh ginger, carrots, and whatever other vegetables catch my eye
Chocolate chip cookies
I could go on.... I love to cook all of these things.
The six things I could never do without
Books
Friends
My cat
A project to work on (building something)
People to meet
Words
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything! My friends, projects I'd like to do, places I'd like to visit, problems I haven't figured out the answer to yet, things I'd like to learn. What I'd do with superpowers, which one I'd want, and what that means about me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out dancing or in making dinner for a friend. Climbing. Reading. At the Artisan's Asylum, fiddling with something or other.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a small collection of children's books that are particularly special to me.
