Books: When your degree requires you to work through a couple of
books each week, reading isn't something that you do that much in
the time you have off. I do love books, though, and the last three
I bought for my own pleasure are The Master and Margarita By
Mikhail Bulgakov, Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman! and Montaillou
by Emmanuel La Roy Ladurie. I'm also working my way through
everything Hemmingway has ever written ever.
New Scientist, The Economist and XKCD.
Movies: Into the Wild, Rubber, Magnolia, Sunshine, Cashback, Moon,
The Fountain, Memento, One Hour Photo, Pulp Fiction, Oldboy, Once
Upon a Time in Mexico, Lotr, Fear and Loathing. Director wise,
nothing beats the Coen brothers.
I've made an effort to see all the Twilght movies at the cinema,
because that much hilarity doesn't deserve to wait.
Shows: Mostly comedy. Think Peep Show, The Mighty Boosh, Family
Guy, Brasseye, Darkplace, IT Crowd, Flight of the Conchords. I grew
up on Star Trek and have a soft spot for House.
Sherlock is pretty much the best thing ever.
Music: Rock, blues, metal, jazz -- I'm pretty open. Some of the
music I'm obsessing over at the moment includes, Sigur Ros,
Explosions in the Sky, Russian Circles and Mogwai.
The violin is the most beautiful sounding instrument there is. I'll
just throw that out there.
Rammstein are the best bad I've ever seen live. Ever.
