My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a Portland native who came to Seattle by way of Montana. I love the smell of the air just after it rains.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm trying to figure out how to turn my passion for photography into a full time career, in the meantime I'm working in video production/creative education. I'm actually pretty busy because when I'm not at my day job I'm often working on freelance stuff or my photography.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Not getting enough sleep, spilling my coffee and getting upset with myself for the first two.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably my beard, or my glasses? I dunno ask the last guy that yelled "hipster" at me from a pick-up truck.

Books: I like narrative non-fiction, and tend to lean toward essays and journalistic writing. I like Chuck Klosterman but think he sometimes over-writes. I've tried a few times to read Sometimes a Great Notion, but haven't been able to stick with it. One of these days I'm going to make it a priority. (UPDATE: Haven't read it yet. DOUBLE UPDATE: I also started Les Mis. Emphasis on started.)

I've recently finished The Enchanted, Telegraph Avenue, No One Belongs Here More Than You, and The Residue Years. I am currently reading American Pastoral by Philip Roth while Kim Gordon's Girl in a Band is on hold at the Library. Just Kids by Patti Smith was amazing in a way I can't really describe.

TV: I've slowed down on my TV watching, but am currently working on: Broad City, House of Cards, Orphan Black and Better Call Saul. Breaking Bad was great, and watching it straight through after it was off the air was the right decision. I don't have the emotional energy to watch the finale of Parks and Rec just yet.

Music: Music is super awesome and I'm into so many different things. I spend a lot of time at shows either hanging out or photographing. According to my top five artists are; The Decemberists, Kanye West, Blue Scholars, Elliott Smith and Band of Horses.

I'm currently on a pretty big local music kick, including: Tacocat, S, The Young Evils, La Luz, Chastity Belt, CHILDBIRTH, The Hoot Hoots (pretty much anything on Hardly Art is probably up my alley) as well as a myriad of others.

I'm also super into: the new St. Vincent, Against Me!, Dum Dum Girls, FKA Twigs, King Tuff, La Sera, Neko Case, the new Sleater-Kinney. God there are too many to list/ think about.

I'm generally listening to Indie Rock, or Top 40 Pop. And am ashamed of neither.

I super loathe the phrase "Anything but country" because it is contrived bullshit.

Movies: Embarrassingly, I don't watch that many movies...I've got no good reason. I like them! I just don't really watch them a lot. Although I recently saw The Craft for the first time and that was amazing.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- A camera.
- The internet.
- Friends.
- Beer.
- Window light.
- Jeans.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How I'm going to get everything done that I want and need to get done. In fact, I spend so much time thinking about it that I never get anything done.

Also, why highway signs have sharp 90º corners but are painted to look rounded. (Example:
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably out at a bar with friends in Ballard or Capitol Hill, or trying to find a show. Sometimes I have to work on Saturday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Wouldn't really be that private would it?

You know all the words to the extended version of the Fresh Prince theme song, or if you want to sing Regulate with me at karaoke (serious applicants only, I've sang that song alone too many times because someone said "I promise I know how it goes!" Spoiler: They didn't.)
