My self-summary
I am generally happy. I get stir-crazy without new experiences. My favorite thing is learning, ie- being uncomfortable in new situations. A big part of that is juxtaposition. I'm as likely to have a conversation with a hobo as to go see opera. Well... I probably lean more toward hobo conversations these days.

I am into music and sound, diy everything, weirdo films, exploring (getting lost), art and creativity in general, traveling. I try to always have some kind of mini-mission, sometimes they are big though. And I'm pretty damn open and easy going. It's very hard to offend me.

I am interested in other creative types. People whose normal life involves exchanging time/effort for projects, missions. Motivated people who are excited about something or other are attractive.

I am open-minded, spontaneous, and good-humored
What I’m doing with my life
I'm new to Minneapolis, as of this past summer. In a past life I was a technical writer and editor. I hated the job, but love to write. Presently, I'm honing my farming/gardening skills and am terrifically interested in food issues. ie-- Food Not Bombs, community gardening, urban farming. I worked for a couple of years in Chicago at an urban farm and am looking to do edible landscape design and garden education.

It's winter so I am dreaming of growing vegetables. More actively, I am learning leather work and hide tanning. My end goal is shoes, but I'm on watches.

Longer term goal is to design forest gardens for the parks in the Cities. Come on, Seattle is doing it!
I’m really good at
making music out of junk, getting lost, talking a lot and then not, being motivated and then feeling lazy. cooking, biking, baking, fermenting.
The first things people usually notice about me
Definitely beard. And a number of friends told me that at first they thought I was gay.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like Kafka, Graham Greene, lots of non-fiction about political, economic, and social junk, Joan Didion, interesting poetry-- especially Russell Edson.

tons of music like Zappa, Charlie Patton, old timey spirituals, Tortoise, Ornette Coleman, Django Reinhardt, Bonnie Prince Billy, The Gorrilaz, Cat Stevens, Billie Holiday, Satie, Deerhoof, old folk/blues/jazz stuff moreso than new music.

Love old films and weird indie films.

I love good food, love to cook meals where everything is from scratch (homemade mozzarella, sauce and dough = pizza).
The six things I could never do without
sounds; interesting, mind-expanding people; getting in a car and driving far; stopping along the way; my bike; being wide open.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
what I want to achieve/learn/cook. traveling, water, sunshine
On a typical Friday night I am
being dragged around or dragging others.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a cow hide soaking in a vat of sumac leaf tea in my basement. It does not smell bad.
