I am outgoing, bright, and loyal.

My Self-Summary

I enjoy first and foremost is spending time with my son. I am a single dad, so free time is sometimes hard to find as my son gets most of my attention, but when I have free time there are a wide variety of things I enjoy.

I focus on learning to bettering myself and being a continual life learner. I enjoy studying and learning about anything to do with technology, nutrition, neurology, anti-aging, muscle building, weight loss, general health issues and many other things. I enjoy having intellectual discussions about life, politics, any science, philosophy, psychology, sociology, religion, other cultures, and many other things.

Other things I enjoy are going to the coffee shop or bookstore, traveling to new places, experiencing new cultures, going to nature parks, museums, spending time with family and friends.

Around the house I also enjoy watching some TV (anything really, some dramas or reality shows, but usually documentaries, history, nature, news, science, or technology), watching UFC fights or football, playing video games (computer or Wii/Xbox/Playstation), going to the movie theaters or even staying home watching a DVD.

On the physical side enjoy going to the gym to workout, martial arts & mixed martial arts (MMA), walks, being outdoors, nature hikes, mountain biking, golf, shooting pool, bowling, playing darts, and table tennis (not to good at that yet). Have considered learning to dance, Latin type like tango or salsa.

I also like to try new experiences, as well, to avoid falling into a rut as life is about living it and is too short to not to enjoy every moment of it.

I am honest, loyal to a fault, very social and a huge people person, outgoing (shocking for a computer geek and book worm I suppose), warm, passionate, and considerate, but am also perfectly happy around being the house or by myself as well. I enjoy really fun, intellectual, and interesting conversations. I also like to mix it up with a dry, sarcastic wit. I always enjoy a friendly debate about controversial issues of the day.

What I’m doing with my life

I work in Information Security field as a information security engineer for a Fortune 200 company, I am defiantly ambitious, but it is not my whole life anymore and I am aiming for more balance between work and personal so I can focus more on whats important in life.

I’m really good at

Making people smile.
Spreading enthusiasm and passion for life.
Creative problem solving (technical and otherwise).
Seeing the best in things.
Being a good friend and communicating well.
Challenging people to bring out the best in them.
Being fun to be around.
Have a great conversations.

The first things people usually notice about me

Tie between my arms, intelligence, and great personality

Okay, intelligence wins, but personality is a good second, followed up arms (working on the abs now, they been sorely neglected, darn computer field).

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

A beautiful Mind, Fight Club, Rain man, Braveheart, Tombstone, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Red Belt (any martial art flick), The Illusionist, Batman Begins & The Dark Knight, Rounders, The Last Samurai, Rudy, The Pursuit of Happiness, The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, O'Brother Where Art Thou, any movie that has meaning or keeps you guessing or on the edge of your seat until the end. Alternative and foreign films are great as well.

Most any music, very eclectic mix, but rock, metal, classic rock, some country, some rap/hip hop, Irish/Celtic, Classical, World Music, Gregorian Chant, anything with good guitar rifts, or with Bagpipes is cool. Really anything new is great...
Does NPR count?

Books are typically educational such as nutrition, computers, business, psychology, etc...

On my to read list:
The Millionaire Mind, E-Myth, The Art of Happiness, The Power of Now, The World is Flat.

As for food I enjoy eating different types of ethnic food that I have not had before. I am trying to actually cook real meals (look mom, no microwave) and improve my diet as well as set a good example for my son.

The six things I could never do without

My son, friends, and family
Honesty & loyalty
Travel & Culture
Reading & life learning
Constantly trying to improve myself in any and every way possible
Surrounding my self with great people and enjoying life

Going to the gym to work out is something I could never do without, but can't make the top six, so it makes honorable mention.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Raising my son to be a great and successful person, enjoying and living life to its fullest, philosophy, spirituality, psychology, health, exercise, weight training, nutrition, neuroscience, genetics, biochemistry, astronomy/physics, really most any science area, travel, different cultures, Information Technology (security particularly, but anything technology related) computer programing (teaching myself currently), writing web-application software, business/marketing, social networking, and communications.

On a typical Friday night I am

With my son. He has really gotten into chess recently, so we have been playing a lot of that lately (more than playing on the Wii... crazy, who would have ever thought, board games over video games...)

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

That could be dangerous, lol...
