What I’m doing with my life
Going to grad school, research, and fighting the impulse to
I’m really good at
The above 3, but in the reverse order and I'm probably lying about
the procrastination part. I also play tennis, cook, and hike.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Into thin air, the emperor of all maladies, the smartest
guys in the room, and most things by Michael Lewis. I'm now into
longform.org - it's a compilation of all the good long form
journalism. I was skeptical at first, but now I'm mildly
Movies: almost anything except horror.
Tv: Modern Family, Parks and rec, 30 rock, Dexter, Curb Your
Enthusiasm, and New Girl.
Music: obscure bands you probably haven't heard of yet (just
kidding!). I like anything with a good beat.
The six things I could never do without
Air, sandwiches, my friends, and three rotating things that ill
think of later. These three are now Dan Savage's life advice,
current events, and the ability to fantasize about hiking trips. I
really like podcasts, particularly Wait Wait Don't Tell Me.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why stats always finds a way to thwart me, why my jokes sound much
better in my head than they do out loud, and things I'd like to do
in New York.
I want to play tennis more often. At one point I was a good tennis
player. After a year of neglect, however, my game is in shambles.
So you'll probably beat me. Or maybe I'll rediscover my form and we
can have epic battles.
Some of my thoughts are in Spanish.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I need to spend more time in the moment and less time in my head.
You should message me if
You see something that intrigues you. Or you want to play tennis.
Or OKC says that we're 97% enemies and you new nemesis.
