My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I've been described as patient, quiet, kind, loving. I can be kind of quiet, but under the right circumstances I get really chatty and will go off on some subject, speaking with absolute authority on it-- though I'm might be making some of it up. Feel free to call me on it.

I'm the guy my friends ask favors of because I almost never say no.

I'm kind of stuck in the western 'burbs, at the moment, but I do make it into the city very frequently, and I'll be moving back in a few months.

As an INTP, I guess I'm more of a thinker more than a doer. My job affords me the opportunity to be a little experimental and involves a lot of thought as well as occasional flare-ups of total insanity, so it suits me well. I can toil away in the lab and be the hero when something breaks.

I can be a bit of an idealist. Thinking things are more like I wish they were than they actually are. Thinking people are more often than not generally driven by the want to do something good.

My philosophy as of late: Listen. Engage. Coexist.

Listen to what someone has to say. Engage them in conversation. Find common-ground. We're all way more alike than we are different. Then use that new-found understanding and respect to coexist.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Looking for the answer to life, The Universe, and everything.

Fixing things. Is your computer being weird? I can fix it. Chair leg is too long? Where's my saw?

Looking for new things to do, places to go, and people to meet

I started running last year-- it's weird because I thought I would hate it, but you know what? I don't. I'm still slow as hell, but I'll do a 5K anytime.

So much soldering of so, so many tiny parts
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being too wordy in messages... sorry

Singing in the car

Knowing useless facts.

Referencing or Relating almost anything back to an episode of The Simpsons, Seinfeld, or a movie you probably saw 8 years ago and totally forgot.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I wind up starting to read science books or books about baseball statistics or something tedious and immensely boring to others, it seems. Definitely want to get into reading more for entertainment. After all, Reading is FUNdamental, right?

Not really into network TV... ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox... I have no idea what's going on over there. I'm more up on cable shows or Netflix these days. AMC, HBO, Science, Discovery, TLC.. I'm into shows where I might learn something new. I Love a good history documentary now and then as well.

I'm more of a filmophile and try to get out to everything worth seeing. I enjoy films by Wes Anderson, The Coen Brothers, Gilliam, Kubrick, -- the list goes on and on. If it's good I probably like it. I realize how useless that statement is, but you know what I mean.

Let's see-- rock-ish, post-punk, shoegaze, blues, pure noise... it's kind of a spectrum, here's a playlist to get an idea:

Mediocre Mix Vol. 1
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to write a non cringe-worthy profile where I don't come off as intellectually elitist or insanely condescending.

If the brain is a quantum computer, does that mean that awareness and intelligence can exist outside of a living body through quantum entanglement? Is there a universal consciousness?

The fact I'm alive means that genetic information was passed on to me in an unbroken chain since the very begging of life on this planet. Across an ocean of time, across five mass-extinctions; despite immeasurable odds an utterly incomprehensible sequence of events all had to occur exactly as they did-- and they did. And I'm here. Now what?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Typical stuff-- hanging out with a friend, catching a movie or live music someplace-- or staying in and trying to get that DVR below 90%
