My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I've been described as patient, quiet, kind, loving. I can be kind of quiet, but under the right circumstances I get really chatty and will go off on some subject, speaking with absolute authority-- though I'm probably making up a third of it.

I'm the guy my friends ask favors of because I almost never say no.

As an INTP, I guess I'm more of a thinker more than a doer. My job affords me the opportunity to be a little experimental and involves a lot of thought as well as occasional flare-ups of total insanity, so it suits me well. I can toil away in the lab and be the hero when something breaks.

I can be a bit of an idealist. Thinking things are more like I wish they were than they actually are. Thinking people are more often than not generally driven by the want to do something good. I'm not going to look at a person and make snap judgements about who they are. I've met too many awesome people that would have been shunned by a closed mind.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Looking for the answer to life, The Universe, and everything.

Fixing things. Is your computer being weird? I can fix it. Chair leg is too long? Where's my saw?

Looking for new things to do, places to go, and people to meet

I started running last year-- it's weird because I thought I would hate it, but you know what? I don't. Well-- maybe a bit during, but once the endorphins take over, I'm all good. Still slow as hell and I need to get better endurance, but I'll do a 5k anytime.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Hitting you with a wall of text.

Taking things apart and sometimes getting them fully re-assembled
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I like the idea of books, and reading them-- I just always find myself losing interest 2/3 of the way through, or getting distracted with something else. Definitely interested in becoming well-read someday.

The same goes for TV. Typically, I'm not investing much time in fiction. It has to be historical, or at least based on true events, or some kind of how-to, science, or reference material. History Channel, Science Channel, TLC, Discovery, etc. I like to learn things.

For moving pictures, I like your typical nerdy sci-fi stuff. Odd that it's become so mainstream. So that leaves us with the dilemma-- do we hipster-out and pretend it's not cool anymore, or do we just embrace the golden age of sci-fi and worry about getting stuffed into lockers again later on?

Aside from that, I enjoy films by Wes Anderson, The Coen Brothers, Gilliam, Kubrick, -- the list goes on and on. If it's good I probably like it. I realize how useless that statement is, but you know what I mean.

Let's see-- rock-ish, post-punk, shoegaze, blues, pure noise... it's kind of a spectrum, here's a playlist to get an idea:

Mediocre Mix Vol. 1
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to write a non cringe-worthy profile where I don't come off as intellectually elitist or insanely condescending.

If the brain is a quantum computer, does that mean that awareness and intelligence can exist outside of a living body through quantum entanglement? Is there a universal consciousness?

The fact I'm alive means that genetic information-- the burning ember of life itself was passed on to me in an unbroken chain since the very begging of life on this planet. Across an ocean of time, across five mass-extinctions; despite immeasurable odds an utterly incomprehensible sequence of events all had to occur exactly as they did-- and they did. And I made it. Now what?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
If I'm not cooking steak and watching cartoons with my daughter, I'm trying to find something to do-- whether it be out to a movie or hanging out with my friends. Typical stuff, you know.
