My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
In the obstacle course of life, I'm the guy who carefully plans out his path, discards the plan midway through, then makes a new plan which usually involves running through a wall and leaving Looney Tunes style cutouts along the way.

I enjoy a great many things and while I don't mind doing them on my own, I love to share in those things with others, whether it's making the perfect pour-over, playing/screaming over Mario Kart, eating brunch at that hot new place in the city, or dressing up to get steak with a side of neat whiskey at the diviest place in town.

I value ambition, sincerity, and compassion in a person. Someone who lives and lets live, who loves to create more than consume. We're only on this world for a little bit, we might as well try and leave our mark.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I type words into a computer and magic happens. Seriously it's magic, don't question it.

I work in a growing company of 50 or so, and our mission as we've chosen to accept it is to help people make their real lives as unique, convenient, and interesting as their online lives. I also have a volunteer position with an organization teaching women to code in order to change my industry.

My biggest hobby at the moment is writing. I've been working on a novel that I've finished the second draft of and realizing there's quite a mountain left to climb before it's ready for publication. But I continue to power through because I want to tell a story that only I can write.

To relax, I enjoy watching and debating the latest episode of Game of Thrones with friends (OK not really that relaxing), playing boardgames with those same people, and the occasional wining and fine dining experience.

On the physical side I train for a bunch of different events. Weightlifting, yoga, and running, mostly in preparation for Tough Mudder.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Singing really loudly at karaoke. Drinking neat whiskey. Usually those two mix together a lot.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The vest. Everyone loves a good vest. Even if I don't wear them all the time in favor of a hoodie and t-shirt (it gets cold!).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: A Song of Ice and Fire, Dresden Files, Dune, Lord of the Rings, Sherlock Holmes. I also love Lovecraft despite his racism. I'm currently working my way through American Gods with my inner narrator sounding like a cross between Matthew McConaughey and Batman.

Movies: Pixar movies, particularly Toy Story and Wall-e. Superhero movies, in particular The Dark Knight. Frozen, Lord of the Rings, How to Train your Dragon, Mad Max.

Shows: The Daily Show, Colbert Report, Archer, Arrested Development, Game of Thrones, Agents of Shield, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, True Detective

Music: Girl Talk, Kenny Loggins, Macklemore, Woodkid, Queen, Florence, KT Tunstall, Tape 5. My relationship with music is a little strange. My favorite songs all have to do with great memories, so there's nothing genre or band specific.

Food: Burritos, Sushi, Japanese Curry, Pasta, Steak. Though I'm down for just about anything.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
In no particular order:

1. Laptop
2. Autonomy
3. Physical activity
4. Family and friends
5. Dogs and cats
6. Phone (seriously, Google Maps is a lifesaver)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Stories and the unique ideas that come with them. Why do some stories simply fade away while others stick around?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
With friends making great big fools of ourselves, whether in the safety of our own houses or in the great wilderness of San Francisco proper.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I once went in against a Sicilian when death was on the line.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You've ever wanted to run a mud covered obstacle course before getting some great meal and melting into a day long coma.

You like to throw dice or play cards.

You like to debate the finer points of TV shows and books.

You'd like to meet my partner in crime, a rather chubby black tabby who acts like a dog to everyone except me (to whom he acts like a cat).
