My self-summary
i've been a lot of places and done a lot of things. Right now, I'm here, doing this, and possibly other things in the near or distant future.
I don't really know what to write here. I've done a lot of traveling, and lived a lot of different ways. I love to read. I'm really nerdy about neuropsychology, human development, and sociology.
What I’m doing with my life
i'm trying to be a better driver. and i'm trying to learn how to take a compliment. and i'd like to be better at public speaking.
I'm really into my job, and I'm happy everyday that I get to do what I love, and it makes me feel alive. Reading makes me feel alive, and talking to people makes me feel alive. I love interacting with people, especially those who have something they're really into interacting about.
Also I'd like to be a more creative cook. I really like cooking, and I'm working on it.
I’m really good at
Being really witty like five hours after the fact.
The first things people usually notice about me
What??....You can see me????
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like neuropsychology: Oliver Sacks mostly, and I recently read a personal account of a psychological researcher on paranoia, including some crazy personal accounts of clinical reproductions of paranoid episodes involving darkness, enclosed spaces, large amounts of cocaine, and police. psychology and bizarre neurological disorders fascinate me. My all-time favorite writer is surely Kurt Vonnegut, i like Cat's Cradle and Breakfast of Champions, and The Sirens of Titan the most, but all of them are great. I dig anything that sticks with me for a period of time after i read it. Jane Hamilton will tear apart your soul if you let her....
Music is a really big deal in my life. I spent many years touring with bands as a teenager and adult, and I need music to survive.
Hm..I'm pretty disappointed with movies and television, but that doesn't mean that I don't enjoy poorly made, low-budget horror movies. I haven't had TV for many years, and then recently I was home one day in the middle of the day and this new TV I just got picks up like four channels and i was HORRIFIED by daytime television to the point where I felt TERRIFIED for people, like, that this is what they see on their TV screen day in and day out and it must just ruin their lives.
I really enjoy Japanese food, and I used to really like Pop Tarts but I don't eat them anymore. Today I REALLY wanted to eat pho, but when i got there the pho place was closed, so I got Chinese takeout instead. See, I"m really flexible like that ;P Also I love cold Chinese food.
The six things I could never do without
dental floss
books (a book?...i guess "A Prayer for Owen Meany" by John Irving, even though I don't really like John Irving, it's one of my favorite books)
someone who I enjoy talking to
um....water and oxtgen, etc...
i don't really need a lot of things. It took me a while to come up with that stuff.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
It's really obvious when you talk to me because I say pretty much all of it out loud.
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing one of two things.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I own all 7 seasons of the original "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" series....and I've watched it all several times and sometimes I talk about Buffy in normal conversations like it's a real part of people's everyday lives and then I get annoyed when they don't know what I'm talking about.
You should message me if
You can give me a break on how weird a lot of the stuff in my profile is. It's more difficult to describe myself than I'd originally thought it would be.
