My self-summary
I am originally from the east coast and moved to San Francisco sixteen years ago. Something about the colors of the houses, the width of the sky, and the way you can turn a random corner and suddenly be presented with this incredible view.

I currently have a pretty normal office job, but in the past I’ve been a residential supervisor at a school for rich ne’er-do-wells, and sportswriter with an expertise in horse racing.

On the weekends, I might drive down to Moss Beach and splash around in the tidepools, or ride my motorcycle up to Bolinas, or babysit my friend’s 8 year old daughter. Sometimes I stay home and read. Sometimes I volunteer. Sometimes I shop at odd food stores and then go home to figure out what to make with it all.
I’m really good at
Answering random questions.
Making chocolate souffle.
Hand sewing. Not that I do it often, and yes, I was very surprised.
Growing jade plants. Orchids, well, sometimes I return them from the brink to flowering health. Sometimes I was the one who sent them to the brink. Sometimes I can't bring them back.
Brewing tea.
Making long meandering travel plans

...and Food might be the reason I stay in San Francisco
The six things I could never do without
The understanding that attachment is the cause of all suffering.
The understanding that it is the very nature of being human to be attached.
The ability to hold contradiction.
Rent Control.
The ability to know when it is ok to not follow instructions to the letter.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What country I am traveling to next.
Thinking less
On a typical Friday night I am
At the izakaya I've frequented for the last dozen years.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I put "somewhat" down for my ability to speak French, Japanese and Yiddish because OKC does not have "negligibly" as an option.
You should message me if
You want to share the ups and downs of a wander through another country (or up and down the coast, or just another neighborhood in SF), to experience what the life there is like, what the food there is like, to see what there is to see.

You think cooking together is romantic (or having me clean up as you are cooking, or vice versa, which is not to say that I think you cleaning up after me is romantic...maybe I better just stop now)

You are looking for a warm, honest, intimate, committed relationship.

You see something that makes you say "Yeah, right, that's it."
