Before I ended up a single mom living in Iowa, I was a goth girl in Minneapolis. So much has changed in my life that I sometimes feel like a chameleon, finding myself blending into such different surroundings, yet still being the same inside.

Supposedly, when you die, your whole life plays out before your eyes- standing at the top of the World Trade Center, partying at Mardi Gras in New Orleans, seeing my daughter's smile, seeing an African elephant or caribou cross the road right in front of me, scattering my mom's ashes, holding my newborn son for the first time, seeing the aftermath of a flood, dancing in a cage at Ground Zero, giving my parents the quilt I'd made for their 50th anniversary, swimming in a hot spring under the Northern Lights, going to see Barack Obama speak, drinking shots while locked in the stocks, and hopefully that's just a few things at the beginning, because I'm just starting to figure out everything I want to do with my life.

fighting for custody of my children, working 2 jobs, designing a tarot deck, and whatever else I can find time for.

That really depends on where I am, what I'm wearing, what I'm doing, and who's noticing me. Am I at a fossil exhibit with my son? If so, they might notice that I can correctly identify the claw of a therizinosaurus. If I just got off of work, they'd probably notice that I'm covered in either glitter or corn starch, depending on which job I was at. If I'm out shopping with my daughter, they'd be too busy noticing how cute she is to pay much attention to me at all.

Books: it's easier to list authors- Kage Baker, Charles DeLint, Cory Doctorow, JK Rowling, Douglas Adams, Octavia Butler, Christopher Moore, Sherman Alexei, Margaret Atwood, Richard Fortey, Mary Roach...

Movies: Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Princess Bride, Tank Girl, August Rush, Bride and Prejudice, Moulin Rouge, Kevin Smith's movies, Angus, Toy Story, The Muppet Movie, Trainspotting, Love Actually, Joe Vs The Volcano, True Romance, ...
I've worked at a few movie theaters, so I'm big on movies, and always like to watch the Oscars.

Music: Goth (Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Joy Division, Black Tape for a Blue Girl...) Industrial (Einsturzende Neubauten, KMFDM, And One, Ministry)
Punk (Ramones, Misfits, Anti-Flag, the Queers) and select country (Johnny Cash, Hank Williams),and I've been getting into Steampunk since I heard Abney Park. I'm open to new music, but I can't stand free-form jazz, new country, or most current pop music.

Food: Pizza, Mexican (especially seafood or with mole sauce), chocolate, spring rolls, sushi, black olives...I can be pretty picky about things I don't like, such as green peppers, but I like to try new things.

Of course, my cats firmly believe that I could never do without a furry butt draped across my keyboard, a paw batting at the ball of yarn as I'm trying to knit, or sharp little teeth chewing on my pencil while I'm trying to draw, but if it was up to my cats, I wouldn't have an account on OKC because I'd concentrate all my time and attention on them.

Normally, I spend a lot of time designing things in my head, like figuring out details of drawings, or projects I'd like to knit or sew. I also think about things I'd like to do to try to make the world a better place, and things I'd like to do with my kids, and how studying the fossil record immediately following previous mass extinctions might help us figure out how to deal with the current mass extinction, or some interesting thing I heard on NPR and how it relates to my life. I like playing with ideas and seeing where they can go.

It varies. Sometimes I'm home alone, doing a bit of housework, watching a netflix dvd, knitting, and catching up with stuff online. Other weeks, I'm over at one of my friends' houses hanging out. Right now, my life is pretty quiet and kid-oriented.

That does NOT mean I want to have sex with random people, or talk about my sex life with random strangers online.
It does mean that I want to have an emotional connection to someone and see how they could be a part of my life long-term before I'd even consider thinking about the possibility of having sex with them.
