I'm looking for someone who compliments me well. Someone who's funny/fun, positive, creative, self-improving, uninhibited, passionate, and loves life. I think it's important to surround yourself with people who you respect and make you a better person (Intellectually / socially / emotionally) - not just your friends but your significant other. Rarely are people's best friends their gfs or wives and that's sad. I won't be one of those and it's gonna be awesome. However, I'm not opposed to hanging out if that's you're thing - it's always good to meet new people
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a freelance creative director in ad agencies where I can make up silly scenarios that eventually become commercials or other ads, so I'd say I'm not the most uptight kinda guy out there. Because of my work I'm heavy into film / design / arts and I do photography on the side.
Here's a silly personal project I worked on last year:
I was the Asian Capt. Kirk all over California & Iceland.
I’m really good at
Being social, keeping promises, opening doors for people, giving and taking advice, thumb wars, creative endeavors, seeing the bright side.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I make good eye contact, despite my small eyes. Or I make good
small eye contact.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I once created this invention that was my favorite book, movie, show, music and food all simultaneously. Unfortunately I ate it and now my life has no purpose.
But in reality I love watching all kinds of film from action flicks to dramas to foreign films to even a bad chick flick. Why? Probably to figure out how I can use some references or techniques for work. But as for my favorites here are some: Christopher Nolan movies, David Fincher movies, Wes Anderson movies, Spike Jonze movies, Eternal Sunshine, Birdman, Mad Max, Lost in Translation, Fargo, Wong Kar Wai films, Star Trek, Primer, Back to the Future, Big Trouble in Little China, Jet Li movies off the top of my head.
Shows: Louie, Better Call Saul, Game of Thrones, Key and Peele, Halt and Catch Fire, Last Man on Earth, House of Cards, Walking Dead, Fargo, Fresh Off The Boat.
Books: Currently reading Yes Please by Amy Poehler and Ready Player One. Also a fascinating and relevant book about this whole online dating thing: Aziz Ansari - Modern Romance.
Music: Currently listening to a lot of Massive Attack / Thievery Corporation Pandora stations. Stuff You Should Know Podcasts.
Food: I could eat Asian anytime - although I'm allergic to peanuts so sometimes that gets me into trouble for Thai and Malaysian. I also have weaknesses for sushi, french fries, breakfast food, and a good steak too. Or anything that gets blogged I'll go check out in a heartbeat.
The six things I could never do without
Creativity, Apple toys, central A/C, pirated movies, inspiring people, laughter and banter.
Six things I hate:
Peanuts (deathly allergic), LA traffic, early mornings, wooden spoons, roller blading, and pretending to laugh at jokes that aren't funny.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
how to improve myself whether its artistically, socially, or professionally. Never stop learning!
On a typical Friday night I am
On a hilarious adventure. Join the hilarity. It's hilarious.
You should message me if
You want a couple laughs, some good personal conversation, and want to see what happens.
