I'm spending a bit of time at the Mox Cafe, which is a super cute little restaurant for boardgames and such, though I'm a bit too introverted to do much more than people watch.
Professionally? I make games for a living, and have the title of Lead Engineer, which means I turn zeros and ones into fun for millions of people around the globe. My favorite part of the job is meeting someone who plays something I made -- there's nothing more awesome than knowing you brought some joy into someone's life.
Music: I love anything with a solid orchestra or strings. For example: Within Temptation, Bond, Sonata Arctica, Delain. I'm also a big Garbage fan, but their sound can go all over (which is why I like them).
Books: "If it has two covers, I'm reading it", but on the fiction front my favorite book of all time is probably "Snow Crash" by Neal Stephenson. My most recently completed book was "Self Made Man".
Movies: Silly fantasy romances like Stardust to action films like Equilibrium or V for Vendetta. I'll admit a huge weakness for Disney's animated films as well -- Aladdin, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, Sleeping Beauty are all well worn in my collection.
TV: House, Castle, Firefly, Slayers, Ranma 1/2, Full Metal Alchemist, Evangelion, the various Law and Orders.
Food: Over complicated salads, Thai curry, all sorts of things... I'll also admit that I opened a wholesale account with my favorite chocolatier... It's amazing and so worth it. I'll even share.
My best friend Paul (1). We've been suspected of being a couple more than once, but he's always there. Two of my best memories are of our trip through Yosemite together and our roadtrip when I moved to Texas many years back. He's the best.
My godson and his mother (2 and 3). I love that little guy; he's the world to me and probably will be until I find my soul mate if there is such a thing. Hearing about his latest bit of learning or the trouble he's getting into never fails to bring a smile to my face, I just wish I could see him in person more than two or three times a year. Thank technology for Skype.
My mother (4). Okay it's a cliche, but she's always there to give me some balance and perspective. She's a total tomboy and nerd, but that means I can be the emotional one and she'll give the rational support I need.
And to round it out my kittens (5 and 6). They're little fuzzballs who know when I'm busy and make sure to sit on my keyboard insistently at that moment. Like all cats, I know.
This theory is behind why trade happens in most circumstances: if I have 100 apples and you have 100 oranges we're likely to not value that last apple and orange very much, so we'll probably both want to trade and get some variety in our diets! I did already warn that I was an economics nerd didn't I? :)
I self identify as an androgyne, and used to be listed on OKC as bi... Oh my heavens the messages I got. I have so much sympathy for all the androphiles involved in online dating. :(
If you know/want to learn how to ride a motorcycle, I’m always looking for riding buddies.
Oh, And if you need an extra for game night.
