My Self-Summary

I'm a shy guy in general; but I come out of my shell when I feel comfortable, which usually doesn't take long since I find comfort in the interesting details of others.

I try to be as socially conscious as possible, so I volunteer and write about social, political and relationship issues. When I'm not writing, I'm boxing. I train during the week and spar on the weekends. It helps me keep my balance.

I love dark beers and a good whiskey or scotch. I also die for hot black women that rock (Sky Edwards from Morcheeba, Janelle Monae, Santigold) and dig some good RnB and underground hip-hop.

Oh, and I'm learning how to cook more than frozen Trader Joe's treats, which must be long overdue since my family keeps sending me recipes.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm applying to grad school and trying desperately to keep up with my Nanowrimo quota. What can I say, I'm Scorpio. Once we're into something... I'm an engineer by degree and currently write for a living. I hope to one day teach college-level kids how science and literature relate to our human experience through speculative fiction (ie. Sci-Fi). I'm a geek at heart, what can I say?
