soooo, i'm an artist through and through. i'm always friendly but sometimes a little shy at first. i'm humble, kind, thoughtful, introspective, sentimental... and have a quirky sense of humour although this profile might sound a little serious at times... i'm a daydreamer with one foot on the ground. creative... a liberal and lateral thinker. i'm an optimist, i try my hardest to keep the glass half full ;) i'm pretty relaxed and will try anything at least once, often twice :)

i make stuff - mostly sculpture/installation, but have been known to paint and take a few pix. i am co-director at a little art gallery and studio space. sometimes i work in film/tv as a sculptor. for the next couple months will be renovating my new house! i'm also learning to play violin.

picking favourites is pretty impossible, but here's some of what i like...

books - lolita, grapes of wrath, geek love, and jitterbug perfume. catch 22 is great... the sacred and profane love machine, half blood blues. currently reading a short history of nearly everything and something wicked this way comes.

like most people i love the music i love although it's all over the place - i usually lean towards alternative/indie type stuff with sprinkles of guilty pleasures from every genre - recent faves - 4ucky, kendal johansson, trust, great northern, eisley, yeasayer, cloud cult, bear in heaven, now it's overhead (their song "skeleton on display" is beautiful), phantogram, little dragon, alpha, we fell to earth, perfume genius... listening to bubblegum pop while i work on my house today. and yes it's true, i really do have a big soft spot for lights - go figure! o_0

movies - pretty much anything both hi and lo.

food - like to eat it! simple and mostly veggie at home, but essentially omnivore - i'm not picky at all, and if i'm at a restaurant that has something i haven't had before on the menu i'll probably try it - cheval anyone?!!

art - love making it but also enjoy viewing/thinking about/collecting it. check out olifur eliasson if you don't know his work, i think he's very good...

obviously there are way more than six things i can't do without...

girls/love, space in my new house, how to be authentic, how to change my stars. art/my next project... and a lot of little daily things...

at my studio making something/trying to figure some project out, or home watching a movie, or out with friends, or seeing a live show somewhere... every couple weeks we have a reception at my gallery that i attend for an hour or two...

um, my hi-fives need a little work...
i have a lot of tea in my cupboard...
