I am sarcastic, honest, and easy-going.
My Self-Summary
Hm, this is odd. Kinda weird to sit here and type to myself. Well,
I guess I'll start off by saying that I'm a recent graduate of
Western Kentucky University's bachelor program in Television
Production. Aspiring to break into video production, but that's
another story.
I hate people, but love individuals. I despise close-mindedness,
and heritage/age is not an excuse.
As my description says, I'm honest. Ask and ye shall know.
What I’m doing with my life
I graduated back in May, so now that I'm thrust into this fantastic
economy and thriving Bowling Green media market, I'm currently
living the dream and working full-time at Walmart. You can find me
there Monday-Friday selling phones and other wonderful electronic
gadgets. Not really the best application for my
technological/creative prowess, but it pays the bills. When I'm not
wasting time at Wally-World during the week, I'm usually watching
films and spoiling my puppy, Sammy. I've also been spending a lot
of time harassing local and not-so-local employers trying to
convince them to give me a better job. Also entertaining the idea
of getting a Masters.
I’m really good at
Most anything regarding filmmaking. I really enjoy writing
screenplays and brainstorming new ideas. I know how lame it sounds,
but I feel the most alive behind my XL-2, it just seems right. If
you don't know what that is, you should find out. I really love to
edit also. I'm pretty damned adept at Adobe Premiere, and solid
with Photoshop, Encore, and a few others.
Besides the technical junk, I'm really good at being a judge of
character. I admit that, a lot of times, I make snap judgments
about people, but I have an amazing rate of accuracy. I'm an
excellent listener and have an empathetic heart. My world revolves
around trust, and those who find themselves willing to share theirs
with me is never broken.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes, I'm told. I'd personally say it's the unfortunate location
of my hairline, but that's life.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I'd think it's pretty obvious with my degree that my key interests
lie within the realm of movies. Before specific flicks are
mentioned, I'll begin with genres. There's just something about the
world of horror that I find so alluring. It's not the gore,
violence, or death...but those are nice too. I think it's
interesting to see how everyone's nice, neat little world can so
easily be turned on its head, and the true nature of someone's
character shines through.
As far as favorites, the Evil Dead tops the list hands down. Not
because it's a cinematic masterpiece, but because of the sheer
devotion and heartache that the filmmakers endured to create their
art. This really sings to me, as an aspiring media kid.
Other favorites include: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,
Session 9, Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey, A Clockwork Orange,
Legend, the Shawshank Redemption, and the Fifth Element. An
eclectic list, to say the least.
The six things I could never do without
A composition notebook and pen (one item)
A computer with working internet connection
My editing software
My numerous pillows
Emotionally powerful music
That feeling I get when I feel an idea coming together
(Let it be noted that family, friends, and my dog are not listed
here due to the fact that they are not "things")
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life.
The next step in my life and what I need to do in order to see it
to fruition.
Not giving up on my dreams.
New story arcs.
The day that I'll not be working at Walmart.
My friends.
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing something with friends. Whether it be a night of drinking and
debauchery, a relaxed evening at home playing old-school video
games, or just watching some films. Admittedly, I've been trying to
go out more on the weekends lately because, let's face it, I really
need to get out!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Sometimes I'm completely blown away by the seemingly infinite
intricacies of our existence. It's an indescribable rush and a
truly surreal feeling.
You should message me if
You're interesting. Trust me, I'll know if you're lying.
You have an amazing sense of humor.
You can deal with weirdness. I am truly one odd bird. This isn't
some fancy, backwards way of expressing how cool I am because I'm a
social deviant...it's just how I am.
If you can finish the quote: "Was it the boogie-man?"
