Hi, I'm Stuart. Here are a few things about me.

I took dance classes for 10 years, and I was part of the breakdance team in college.

After tying an Indian friend in a spicy food eating competition, it was believed by many that I bleed brown. This theory has been proven false - I actually bleed maize and blue. Update: I won an Indian restaurant challenge!

I lived in Cairo for seven months and London for a year, and at one point in time, I was proficient in Arabic. Now I'm proficient in C++.

People sometimes ask me how I went from working in Political Science to Computer Science and now Machine Learning. I tell them they are similar - the difference is only one word. I think people often over-estimate the height of walls. That is the optimistic view. My good friend thinks most people are like beached whales. He's not wrong either.

One of the first things they teach in school is to draw a straight line, but I sucked at that then and definitely suck at it now. I have varied interests, accomplishments, and goals. I zig and zag because for me, life isn't linear. I come from a family of zaggers, and I'm looking for a another in my life. Maybe you'll join me?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm in the Bay Area for the summer with a well-funded startup. I write code and deal with data.

I've worked in DC in government/defense and at my family's business. I might return to one or both of those in the future. I spend my nights drinking wine and writing code for an absurd dream.

I'm currently conducting research with a professor that attempts to classify givers, takers and matchers by what people write. By effectively classifying kind people by what they write, I may be able to find a nice chick on this site who I don't divorce in 10 years.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
finding many problems interesting, chest-to-bar pullups, helping people think through hard decisions, planning surprise birthday parties, absurd Craigslist ads that draw lots of attention
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Blue eyes, genuine curiosity and kindness
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I like hip hop and dubstep like this - https://soundcloud.com/dveloped - and this - https://soundcloud.com/lecastlevania/kaskade-turn-it-down-le-castle - and this - https://soundcloud.com/mikaelwills/thrift-shop-mikael-wills - and this - https://soundcloud.com/cashcash/overtime-dotexe-candyland - and this - https://soundcloud.com/flux-pavilion/im-the-one - and this - https://soundcloud.com/zomboy/01-nuclear-hands-up-1.

I read books about breakthrough business and government practices, technology (hardware and software), social/political movements, organizational studies literature, and happiness.

I like action movies and comedies. I watch Shark Tank, Scandal, Homeland and House of Cards. I have a secret affinity for Pawn Stars.

I'm also a Coursera and Edx person. I'm working through some B-school and Data Science stuff this summer.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Hot liquids, technology, books on tape, music, life hacking the shit out of this world, commuting by bike
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How many people seeking a partner in crime have been convicted of actual crime? What is the probability that they will engage in a crime during their lifetime ?

Why elevators can't just "know" that they are full, and consequently not stop on every floor on the way up or down? And why can't you unpress an elevator button by simply pressing it again?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
gym, cooking, and work (maybe out on a date).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have a disproportionally huge ass and a decent Crip Walk.

Over the course of my career, I have literally gone from hauling a machine gun to conducting machine learning experiments. Mountains that get in your way are for keeping those other people out.

I am attracted to fierce, strong women - both psychologically and physically. Strong is "sexy," and I measure it in a variety of ways.
