My Self-Summary
Where to start? My sense of humor is a bit odd, and as a result I
often find myself laughing at my own corny jokes. When I first meet
people I'm pretty reserved, but once I warm up to someone I really
step out of my shell. I'm pretty straight-forward and typically
won't say something without really thinking about it first, so rest
assured that I mean what I say and I say what I mean. I'm pretty
low-maintenance and have an easy time just enjoying life so long as
I have good company, a keyboard to play, a pen to write with and
anything at all to write on. Swimming is also something that I
really enjoy...I took surfing lessons once a long time ago and
would love to get back into it if the opportunity presents itself.
What I’m doing with my life
Currently, I'm in college studying creative writing with a minor in
art. Down the road, I'm hoping to have my writing published and
make enough to buy a full-length Korg with weighted keys and
explore the world since I haven't had much of a chance to travel.
I’m really good at
Spotting the irony in life that is too often overlooked seems to be
a specialty of mine. Writing about it is another. I've been pretty
involved in music for the majority of my life and am very
passionate about playing the piano among a couple of other
instruments that I haven't had access to in quite some time.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes tend to be the first thing people notice...for the most
part. Some people tend to think my eyes are elsewhere, though. As a
result, I REALLY appreciate eye contact =P.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Anything written by Haruki Murakami is near the top of my must-read
list, especially 'Kafka on the Shore' and 'Hard-Boiled Wonderland
and the End of the World'. 'House of Leaves' by Mark Z. Danielewski
is another great read. As for movies, Eternal Sunshine of the
Spotless Mind, Donnie Darko, The Protector, The Truman Show, Kill
Bill (I & II), and Pulp Fiction are just a few of my favorites.
My taste in music is pretty eclectic...Radiohead, M.I.A., Violent
Femmes, Modest Mouse, Notorious B.I.G., King Khan and the Shrines,
and Led Zeppelin are just the first to come to mind. Frozen yogurt
is a weakness of mine, artichokes are another, and who doesn't love
a nice, juicy steak? Mmm.
The six things I could never do without
My friends and family, a pen/paper, music, water and clean air to
breathe.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why character Mac n' Cheese tastes so much better than regular Mac
n' Cheese. I'm convinced that it's because there is more
surface-area for the cheese.
