I am inquisitive, insightful, and rad, rad, rad..
My Self-Summary
"I'm a pixie.. I'm a paper doll.. I'm a cartoon-I'm a chipper,
cheerful free-for-all. And I light up a room.. I'm the
color-me-happy girl, Miss 'live-and-let-live'.. And when they're
out for blood I always give."
... that said, I don't even know what that song sounds like, I just
love those select lyrics. :)
What I’m doing with my life
Basically running with scissors on all fronts, but enjoying
everything. I own a business, have a kid and like finding places
around the city that make me feel like I'm not in a city at
all.
And jamming my camera full of pictures along the way.
I moved back to Edmonton a few months ago because I realized the
value of great friendship and family after a short stint down south
in Drumheller and Calgary.
Sometimes I miss Drumheller.
Actually, strike that -I just miss the dinosaur sculptures on the
street corners.
I’m really good at
- Photography, music, art, writing, cooking.. most of my talents
lie in the artistic realm, mind you, it seems like I never have
time to do any of it anymore.
- Falling down the rabbit hole online on sites like Wikipedia where
there is always new and interesting information to shove into my
brain.
- Writing self-important internet profiles that give off a much
colder feel than I'd like, but that I don't know how to fix so they
sound as charming, warm and wonderful as I am. Haha.
- Being hilarious. See above. :D
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm very tall.
I'm the girl you hate standing behind at concerts because even if
you -can- see over my head, my long hair is getting stuck to your
sweaty arms/face/etc. (Clearly the solution though, is for you to
stop sweating.)
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I love music, books and food - but I don't want to list a bunch of
them that I like best.
Right now I'm listening to alot of Iron and Wine, Deftones and The
Knife.
Right now I'm reading "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius"
by Dave Eggers, "A Dirty Job" by Christopher Moore, "Fear and
Loathing in Las Vegas" by Thompson, "A Picture of Dorian Gray" by
Wilde, "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley annnnd... "A Walk in the
Woods" by Bill Bryson. It seems ridiculous but I always read a
million books at once.
Food is open and I'll try anything.
And I should add that I also love movies, but seeing them in a
theatre over watching them at home, usually. Sometimes the latter
is nice.
The six things I could never do without
1. Good relationships with everyone around me, particularly my 2
year old.
2. My camera.
3. Quiet nights in.
4. Good music, food, art, literature and entertainment.
5. The feelings of wonder and awe that accompany learning great new
things.
6. Touch and physicality.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything. Always.
My head is constantly busy with things I love, want, need, read,
question, am puzzled by, am learning about and dream up.
On a typical Friday night I am
At home reading or laughing with whichever friend is keeping me
company while my darling girl sleeps. I like quiet and low lights,
tea, music, good company and making secrets out of all of the
above.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I have a faint birthmark on my right shoulderblade that looks like
the Star Trek logo. I had it tattooed over, but I'm still pretty
sure that makes me the chosen one of that crowd.
