Better tagging.

I've noticed in the past that OKC lists my compatibility higher based on us both having an interest in tattoos.  But that's the problem... I don't like tattoos, generally speaking.  I think they detract, much like excessive makeup or fake tanning.  But it assumes I does because the word "tattoos" is included in the sentence, "I don't care for tattoos."  So, I guess either we need to not list what we don't like, which doesn't make sense, or a more scrutinous system need be in place.

That's not to say OKC is slacking.  Quite to the contrary, they're doing a good job.  I just wish the Search function had some more intermediate search ranges... somewhere between 100 or 500 miles and "anywhere."  Just a thought.

How that doesn't make sense? Wouldn't it be better to say what you do like and start from there? It's certainly a more positive approach.

Search has 25, 50, 100, 250, 500 miles and anywhere.

An image of succotash_54 I think it doesn't make sense because one of the most elementary ways we learn what something *is* is by learning what it *isn't.* I think knowing what you DON'T want is intrinsically valuable in itself, as well as helping to ascertain what you DO want. I don't think we need another section called "Dislikes" or anything negative, but the ability to state a couple things they don't like is valuable in narrowing the field and greater defining Match and Friend compatiblity levels. Besides which, there are an incredible number of profiles that say "You should NOT message me if:" followed by a list of things they are NOT looking for in a potential match. It's a way to potentially prevent wasting time, effort, and hope; I don't think they're being any less positive in their approach, merely stronger. As far as the miles thing goes... I guess it's just more interesting to see the matches in one's own country, but in a nation the size of the U.S. or Canada, someone in the Eastern time zone can't see matches from the Pacific time zone without having to sift through others that are half a world away, and therefore (for whatever reason) are considered less feasible.
