My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
People often tell me I'm easy to be with. I'm not entirely sure what they mean by that, but from what I've been told it comes from the fact that I'm pretty laid back and open minded.

I love talking books, movies, and politics but swapping stories about, well, anything is pretty great too.

I run, take long walks around the city, and laugh a whole lot. I'm excitable, curious, and into exploring. I am rarely bored even if I am sitting around doing nothing.

I'm looking for somebody who is available, open minded, left wing, smart, educated, funny (think Bill hicks, Louis CK and Woody Allen), and empathetic. I'm vegetarian, and it's best if you are too, but it's not a requirement.

I am sometimes slow to respond to email (and I never respond to IMs). It's nothing personal, I just get caught up in real life.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Teaching at an international school in Brussels.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Saying the alphabet backwards.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
How on earth would I know? I am not the omniscient narrator of my life.
Usually what people say they noticed is this: my laugh. I laugh at everything.
I'm also pretty small.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books and authors: Toni Morrison, Cormac McCarthy, King Leopold's Ghost, Coetzee, McEwan, David Foster Wallace, Dave Eggers.

I'm pretty proud that I read Infinite Jest last year. Sometimes it bored me, sometimes it dazzled me, sometimes it made me understand something about what it means to be human these days. I think I'll give it another read in a few years time.

What I've been reading lately: Woman in White, Planet of Slums, Solar, Ulysses.

Movies: almost anything by Woody Allen, When Harry Met Sally, Synecdoche New York, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind... and not a movie but: The Wire

Music: stock answer=anything good. What that means to me= ani difranco, Bon Iver, Cat Power, Nina Simone, The National, Willie Mason...I hope you get the picture.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My best friends
Long walks and runs
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Entertaining grade sevens, running, fallen arches, war, social justice, groceries, cooking, my cat, though not cooking my cat, whatever it is I'm reading, plotting the future...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
In the winter: drinking a glass of wine, watching netflix or hulu, and eating something delicious.
I'm a teacher, so in the summer I'm lucky if I even know it's a Friday :)
