It could be said that I'm a bundle of contradictions. I'm geeky yet sociable, highly sensitive yet open to others, shy yet brave, loving yet prickly at times. I have a shell but it's not hard to get through it. I've successfully resisted the temptation to buy an armor upgrade and install some intrusion countermeasures.
Hobbies: I enjoy reading especially science fiction and fantasy, although I also like the occasional gothic romance, historical fiction, mystery, or technothriller. I'm also really into movies (and somewhat into TV). In movies I prefer sci-fi, comedy and action. However, if I like the subject matter (or the actors/director, or just think the trailer looked neat), I'll go see anything. I also love video games, especially Playstation, tabletop RPG, board games and card games (Munchkin is my favorite}. I love having intelligent discussions on almost any topic, love great food, fine spirits, the occasional toke. I like to combine any or all of these (with the right person).
I am silly, geeky, and fluffy
I'm still trying to find fun ways to stay active. It would be fun to have someone to come swim in our apartment complex pool with me or take walks who isn't too frustrated with my need to go slow.
Update: My dance card is pretty full lately. What this means in terms of OKCupid is that while I enjoy having fun people to talk to, I have limited time to actually go out. I still feel that each relationship finds its own level and should be free to do so (within the parameters of what everyone involved wants). However, you'd be much more likely to fit into the time I have available if you were a bi guy or girl (or bi couple) who would like to spend time with allencaps and I together.
I'm pretty good at seeing both sides of an issue. This makes me indecisive at times, but it leads to interesting discussions :)
The observer will note that I'm quiet around new people, and try to make sure I know the reaction before I open my mouth to say something (unless I'm tipsy).
Books: Perennial faves are CJ Cherryh, Lois McMaster Bujold, Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, China Mieville, Iain Banks. Recently I've been reading Robin Hobb, Kim Stanley Robinson, Jennifer Roberson and the webserial Tales of MU.
Movies: Other than the prefs I mentioned above, I'll mention a few of my most favorites such as Princess Bride, Bladerunner, 10 Things I Hate About You, most of Kevin Smith's movies, Donnie Darko, Secretary. The list is far too long.
Music: I like 80s/New Wave, BritPop, Alternative, Classic Rock, Jazz and Blues, some Country. I like a LOT of different things, it might be easier to say what I don't like, which is loud, unintelligible Rap; really twangy or silly Country; loud, unintelligible Industrial; modern Jazz; soft Rock; meaningless Pop.
Food: I like a wide variety of food. I'll try almost anything. Most favorites are things that contrast sweet and savory. I love Thai, Indian, and Chinese food.
I will never offer you any less than my whole self. If that's too much, I'm sorry.
you think that all these words do an inadequate job of quantifying the essence of a person.
you realize that deep down inside we're just like everyone else...except totally different.
that made you smile a little.

Please Note: I love talking to people. I even like to talk about sex. However, if you proposition me within the first 5 minutes, it's not going to happen. I'm not here for NSA sex (I know how to get that if I wanted it but I don't). If you don't want to at least put enough effort in to be friends, don't bother.
