Do you ever drink alcohol in order to lower your inhibitions with the opposite sex?
  • Yes
  • No
I am not one for posting about being left out as a queer lady with these questions, but answering this either way feels misleading. No, I don't drink to lower my inhibitions with the opposite sex. My inhibitions aren't going anywhere no matter how drunk I am when it comes to boys (and I certainly don't want them to lower).

But will I throw back a few shots of liquid confidence when I'm at a bar with an awesome woman? You can bet your pants that it's happened more than once.

Judith Butler, heterosexual matrix, blah blah blah.

When it comes to right and wrong, which of the following do you think has the greatest impact on your belief system?
  • Religion.
  • Family and/or friends.
  • Laws.
  • Self interest.
I think it's interesting that ethics are reduced to religion, peers, a certain country's laws, and self-interest. What about a moral code derived from studying philosophy and having basic common sense? I believe that everyone is driven inherently by at least some self-interest, but it's not WHY I keep to the morals I do. Sure, it would be in my best interest to steal (assuming I could get away with it). It's not the law stopping me - it's the idea that I have the means, so it's frivolous and unnecessary for me to steal. Anything I want to steal, I probably wouldn't need anyway.

Within the same structure of my personal ethics, I have no problem with people who steal food because they can't afford it. I just thought the answers here were too simple for what should be a complex question.
